I friend of mine who is on vacation at WDW just calld to tell me that they could not enter the Magic Kingdom today because it was at capacity.

Is spring brake along with the current deals making it that busy?

Maybe I should tell her to go to Umiversal or Sea World!

Who Knew!

I'm not too surprised since it's the week before Easter. A lot of school systems are off this week.

It's also just before Easter... lots of schools have this week off... and others have next week ...

Wdwmagic reported that MK was at a level 4 closure status (closed to ALL incoming guests) until 3pm today. It's now back open to all guests. It must have been a madhouse. They also reported that DHS was close to capacity and was directing people to park at Epcot. Nothing was said about epcot or AK being closed.

Zip Snap!!

Is all of Orlando like that? Universal, Sea World ?

Pixie Dust to all at WDW!

Yes, my girlfriend is there I WARNED her but she went anyway some just dont want to believe the busy scheduled time even though those peak times are posted for every 1 to see! ughhh Yep she couldnt get IN MK and HAD ADRS TOO at cp. If it is the absolute only time you can go during peak time I say go but if you can pick dif travels dates by all means DO IT!

Wow! Even closed to resort guests!

I wouldn't go the week before or after Easter if it was free! Well, maybe if it was free AND I didn't have to use up a week of my vacation from work.

Is that unusual for these weeks, parks closing for capacity?

I can't ever recall a level 4 this time of year...

Hmm...

Must be spring break combined with the '3 free' promotion.

The MK is nothing short of miserable during those conditions (I've seen women's restrooms with a 15 min wait... :scared:) Maybe they should give out fast passes...

In all seriousness though, God's speed to all the families having to deal with that....

Even if the resorts are all full it will not result in park closures, so it's not just the 3 days free promo that is causing it. They must be gettting a ton of off-site and locals showing up also.

wow that sounds like a challenge to say the least. What is mk park capacity? Note to self, NEVER go to wdw during easter week.:scared1:

Another reason the parks are full is because the weather is so cold no one is at the water parks...My family was at Blizzard yesterday and said ere were 15 cars in the whole parking lot, and they closed the park a couple hours early because there was basically nobody there...

OMG... we are heading down there in a few hours. My DH is a teacher so we have no choice but to go when it is school vacation week.

Send me some pixie dust that it wont be that bad:scared1:

get to the park of choice at opening, get what you want done, and have a good plan and you'll be ok. It's when you walk into MK at noon that you have problems with everything. Even then, with proper touring you can minimize the amount of time you stand in line.

This is totally unofficial, but I heard 75,000 at the MK is the magic number.

I am sure it is a lot of locals- almost all the schools around Disney are on spring break this week. I know of at least 8 counties within a couple jours drive as well as the county it is in.
