We'll be at the World in 13 days and I'm getting all excited about the Holiday decorations!! I was wondering if anyone is there now or a recent returnee who could tell me if the decorations are going up yet? If so, details please. We love to go for a long weekend over Thanksgiving. It's a great way to give Thanks and it's a great way to kick off the Holiday season and get in the spirit.

Thanks - I hope someone has info to report.

I read on another post that the decorations are going up all over the place. Personally I am so excited, we are heading down next weekend for a short trip before Thanksgiving and I had no clue they put the decorations up this early. My husband knows but we decided not to tell the kids so they would be surprised to see the decorations.

I'm almost positive the post I read about the decorations was here on this board.

Have a great trip.

We were there Oct 20 - 30. Decorations were starting to go up ::yes:: , but we didn't get a real good feel for it. Nothing was lit up, they were just starting to put things up.

Yep, us too (Oct. 12-23).

I know it takes a long time to get all of the lights up but it kinda ruined the "Halloween" mood for us to see the christmas stuff. It seemed most abundant in the Studios.

Agreed!! We wish they would have been able to wait until after Halloween. But, they gotta do what they gotta do I quess.

We were there last week. On Nov 1 all these trees were suddenly in place of all the pumpkins! Too funny.

Just watch out for the tree to the right of the castle----the bridge to Tomorrowland is no longer a great place to watch the fireworks because most of them go off behind the tree! Wasn't even thinking about that when we lined up early. Luckily it was an empty night and we could go further toward the castle and see them.

The Magic Kingdom has garlands and wreaths adorning Main Street USA.
There is also a HUGE tree up on the right side of the Castle towards tomorrowland. The weird thing was when we were in the MK on 11/8, we were waiting for the Parade in front of the castle and we were sweating in the heat, and heard Christmas music playing on the park's sound system!!!! We are from MN, so this was a very strange feeling!!!!!
Have a great trip...I miss the magic already!!!

my DB and DSIL who called from in front of the castle. They were watching Cinderellabration (I could just hear it in the background). I'd be very envious but I will be there in exactly three weeks for a two week trip.

They said almost all the decorations are up and are really beautiful, especially the tree next to the castle. I can't wait to see it all myself. :earsgirl:

See you all in the World

As of today (Thurs). the Epcot tree was up and decorated at the entrance to World Showcase.

Are the resort decorations up yet?

I am going with my mom 11/17-21. I have been there in Dec where it was christmall all over, but she has not.
I am excited I get to show my mom the Osborne lights, but I know she would really love the resort decorations.

Thanks

The decorations are up, but the lights aren't on yet.

we left nov 4 and all lights were up they were singing x mas carols already nov 14 lights should be lit

According to the wdw sit the lights start on Monday. As of yesterday the decorations were up on Main Street and at Mickeys Toontown Fair. There is also Christmas music playing everywhere. Everyone was commenting about how early it was. Micheal the CM at the Barbershop said this was the earliest the decorations have ever been up. Has something to do with the Dolly Parton thing in town and how she starts her Christmas show after Halloween and the rest of the theme parks felt they had to follow along (least that is what he told us).

Oh boy - I'm even more excited after reading all of these repliles. I can't wait to get there. I'm curious about the huge tree on the bridge to Tomorrowland. I don't remember there being a tree there in the past. We went last year during the same time and then about 5-6 years prior we went the 1st week in December and one other time that I can't remember. We're going to try to make the Thanksgiving trip a Holiday tradition. Just a 4 night trip to kick off our season.
