Are the bunk beds big enough for a college kid?

A teacher friend of mine will be going with her family (DH and DD20) to WDW over spring break. DD's boyfriend will also be coming along. She was wondering if her daughter and the boyfriend will be comfortable in the bunk beds at WL. I'm pretty sure the boyfriend is really tall - 6'3" or 6'4". I've never been in a room with bunk beds at AKL or WL. Any ideas? I told her that most of the deluxe resorts have a daybed so maybe that would be a better option?

We stayed at WL last week in a room with bunk beds. The bunks are the same size as a standard twin bed. 18yr old DS is 6ft He slept in the top bunk. He said it was a little small but manageable.

DD11 had a first grade teacher who went to Wilderness Lodge with her hubby and 2 teenaged boys. They wanted the bunk beds for the boys and loved them. These are 2 big strapping farm boys and they did fine. I guess they could call and ask if they are regular length or the extra long twins like they have in dorms. The rooms with daybeds are nice too though, we stayed at the Poly once and it was great.

One thing though--bunk beds are NOT guaranteed. What will the do if they check-in and there are no bunk bed rooms available?

Oooh - I didn't think about that. I'll remind her that bunk beds aren't guaranteed. She is really stuck on staying at WL. Our room at AKL had a daybed but we also had a king bed. I can't imagine a daybed would fit in a WL room with two queens.

Nope, no daybed rooms at WL.
