Are the beds at POP century really that bad?

I booked 2 rooms at POP for our Sept. trip. We were excited about the slushies/Icee machine in the food court and wanted to try something other than the All-Stars. Then I got nervous when I read some of the resort reviews on All Ears. Several people complained that the beds were too hard. Is this true? I am traveling with my dh and 4 very energetic children! Having a nice bed to recoup at the end of a long day in the parks is a plus. Also, my husband sometimes has back problems. Please advice! Should I switch to a refurbished room at ASMu?:confused3

DW and I have stayed at POP many times and found bed not hard at all. We love POP:love: but we booked ASMUSIC for our May trip for something different. We have stayed at POP 7 times. We will miss the frozen coke machines.

we stayed at Pop in October 06 I didn't think the beds were bad at all. I had read they were hard, but after a day at the park we had no trouble sleeping in them and I am a bed snob. (king and plush) the other thing I remember reading is how noisy the toilets were, but I didn't hear anything it was totally quiet in the section we were in. So how are the All Star resorts, we are staying at ASMo in September and I am worried that we should have gone back to pop, but like you wanted to try something different.

I thought they were very comfortable. We had a kind bed in the 50's building. Lots of pillows too!!

DH has a bad back (3 surgeries due to ruptured discs) and the beds at POP are great for him! I would call them firm, not hard. They aren't soft, saggy or lumpy. Our worst mattresses were at WL - those were terrible.

What is hard to me, may be soft to you. What is loud to me, may be fine for you.

Stick with what you have, POP is an awesome resort.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease. We have stayed at All Star Movies twice (Sept '05, Sept '06) both with free dining. We loved it! Theming is great for kids and the pool is fun! During the pool refurb in '06, we pool hopped (allowed at all All-Stars) to Music and loved the pool there also. It never seemed like a long walk to the bus stops even when we stayed in the Luv Bug building which seems to be the farthest. The food court was noisy and crowded, but we didn't mind. Movies is the last stop for the buses, but it didn't seem to be a problem except at park closing.

My dh and I also took a short vacation without the kids this last summer. We stayed in a newly refurbished room in the baseball building at ASSp. It was perfect! The bed was very comfortable and the decor is nice. They made a fuss over us because we were celebrating our anniversary.

You will love Pop for all the reasons you enjoyed the All stars, AND the bus situation seems even better, as there is only one bus stop area at Pop.

We loved Pop, and never have had any problem sleeping there. :thumbsup2

I always sleep wonderfully at Pop. Never had an issue with their beds. :confused3

Enjoy your Icee's! :woohoo:

I LOVE POP but I do think that the beds are a little hard. That being said, I slept like a baby! It is Disney....you play hard all day and crash at night. I probably could have slept on a 2x4.;) If that is the only reason you are thinking of not staying at POP...I certainly would not let that stop me.

I've been to POP 9 times and not missed one night's sleep. The beds are fine!! Enjoy your stay!

We just got back from a week at Pop and never once did I hear my picky DH complain about the beds. We both slept great the whole trip!! Have a great time! We really enjoyed it.

Thanks for the info everyone. I think we're going to have a fabulous time at POP! Now we only need to worry about preventing brain-freeze from our bottomless resort mugs full of frozen coke:woohoo:

my dgf is also very picky and a bed snob, and had no complaints about the beds during our stay there...

Honestly after hearing so many say the bed was bad & the pillows were horrible, I was a little worried but my bed was super soft there. My pillow was also extremely fluffy- I couldn't even use two of them. I seriously slept so perfect haha. The beds there are better than my bed at home, maybe the rooms have different beds or something cause mine was literally feathery soft.

Although I haven't stayed at Pop I find the newest resorts such as AKL and Beach Club Villas have had super hard beds. Not sure why? Maybe a new supplier?
