Are side by side double strollers really possible at the parks?

We have a side by side Peg Perego Aria stroller. We bought it because its really light - I think 17lbs, and folds so easy. We wanted a side by side cuz I figured for Disney, both girls could see better at parades and everything. Its narrow also, and fits thru normal doorways. However, over the course of Christmas shopping when people have 500 things in the aisles, its become very difficult, so we were wondering if we should by one of the front/back double strollers for Disney instead. By the way, we're going the week after Thanksgiving 2005 so it wont (hopefully) be super crowded, and girls at that time will be 4yo and 19mos. Thanks.

We have the exact same stroller and have taken it to WDW twice - it is excellent We have never had an issue with it while there - we have left it folded out on motor launches, etc., and pushed it through turnstyles. And it is great for when you need to fold it up - like getting on a bus. So easy to fold, light to carry and small to hold beside you when necessary. I think you would be much happier with this stroller than a heavier, more cumbersome front/back model.

I have 3 year old twins. We went this past Aug., and we have both types of strollers. I never use the front to back, and didn't in Disney either. We didn't have any problems with the side-to-side (except, very occasionally in a crowded gift shop.) I love my side to side, and for the parades/shows it's definitely good to have the side-to-side. Disney's double strollers aren't exactly narrow either, so I think you'll have plenty of company!

We've done 3 WDW trips with a side-by-side double stroller and have never had a problem.

We have a much harder time with my sister's side-by-side at the mall then we do at WDW.

I had a single stroller and I had trouble getting on the monorail. I didn't fold it because it was so crowded I couldn't hold on to my 3 year old and a stroller. You would really need to fold a double stroller before getting on the monorail but if you have a second set of hands with you to watch your kids and the crowds are low you really shouldn't have a problem with the monorail.

I don't think you'll have a problem. You're going during a time of year that usually isn't too crowded so you'll have no problem!

Thanks for all the replies! I was hoping to not have to invest in another stroller. I also like the fact that they can both see everything thats going on, and not have any fights about who sits in front.
