Are shows scheduled or first come first serve?

I have been reading a lot about the great shows on board the Wonder. Are they part of a rotating itinerary or are you on your own? Are there reserved seats or first come first serve?

There aren't any reserved seats. If you have first dinner seating, you go to the shows after dinner. If you have late seating, you go to the shows prior to dinner. Seating is first come first served.

All that being said........ if you decide to not have dinner in the dining room, and go to Topsiders or have room service, you could go to whichever show you choose.

There aren't any reserved seats, or any reserved showings. It is assumed that you will go to the early show (I think it was 6:30) if you have late dining, and the late show if you have early dining. There isn't anyone there checking to be sure that you are at the right show. It's just assumed that you'd like to eat, so you won't miss dinner to see the "wrong" show!

I never had any problems finding seats for shows on either our 7 day cruise or our 4 day cruise. We usually arrived about 15 minutes early (time to refill our drink mugs and get a smoothie for the kids). But there were always seats even after it started.

The only reserved seats on the ships are your dinner seat. That is one of the reasons that we like late dinner seating. If we are having a lot of fun in port that day, we are much more likely to skip the show rather than dinner. We also really love the "inbetween" shows - DCL refers to them as the cabarette shows. They fit inbetween dinner and the start of the show in the Walt Disney Theater. With early dinner the "schedule" is kind of like: Dinner, Cabarette show, Walt Disney Theater show. Late seating you flip the dinner and WDT show. With early seating we usually went to the WDT right after dinner because we wanted seats in the lower section (smaller children). We skipped the cabarette shows to get "our" seats in the WDT. With late seating we would go to the WDT, then the cabarette show and not worry about dinner because we have a "reserved" seat and we show up when the show is over (usually 15 minutes before dinner starts)

The shows fill up quickly, so you should prolly get there at least 15 minutes before it starts. They're not keen on seat holding, either. The shows are wonderful and 100% worth the waiting!

I agree with Stepharoonie and arrive at least 15 minutes early. We loved getting there early, getting our pick of seats, and getting a chocolate or strawberry smoothie. The smoothie helped the kids' wait go quickly.

Seat saving is for amateurs. We were on a cruise where about 4 kids saved an entire row, plus seats in the next row too. Sad thing is all of the rest of us let them get away with it ---- EVERY NIGHT

The way they have arranged show times is wonderful. On other cruise lines, if you have late dining, then you go to the late showing. But.....many, many of the early diners do not want to go to the early show, and show up at the late show. Then the theatres are overcrowded, filled with cranky people who can't see the shows, even though this is "their" seating. Seat saving runs rampant and tempers are short. I feel that everywhere seat saving might become a problem, the people on board Disney do not present too many problems. The only time I have become irritated with seat saving is at the pools where people come and go all day, saving their deck chairs each time they leave for a couple of hours.

The cabaret (my spelling is bad) shows are the ones scheduled between the dinner seatings. They take place in Rockin' Bar D and the venue formerly known as Off Beat on the Magic. They are short (30-40) minute shows featuring one of the entertainers that preform in the Welcome Aboard or Farewell variety shows. They are musicians, comedians, magicians, jugglers, ventrioquists (see my sucky spelling again) or a combination of the above.

The shows that are between the dinner seatings are for the entire family. The ones scheduled between 10 and 10:30 are the same entertainers and are adults only. The adults only shows that I have seen I would not have hesitated bringing my kids to (for the most part) because they are not that "adult" (remember this is still Disney).
