Are Saturdays always crowded at MK?

I'm wondering if Saturdays are always the busiest at MK? I was originally told Mondays were... I know it is crowded now because the cheerleaders just got there, but I'm going in January. Can someone tell me if this holds true for January too? I happen to have my itinerary set for Saturday at MK.

I'm still kicking myself for making such a short trip, but I'm really on a tight budget and want to get make the best of my 4 full days so please tell me if I should shuffle my days? I'm hoping not since I've got lunch planned at the Concorse. Thinking if I do a late lunch and not worry too much about dinner I can hit spectro and wishes.

Thanks

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the two worst days at Disney are Saturdays and Mondays. I always go during the off season (Nov and Dec. and not during holiday weeks) and have always found that Saturdays were crowded or had the longest line waits when compared to a weekday (other than Monday). As your scheduled for Saturday your best bet is to hit the park at opening and ride most popular rides before 11ish (that is when I find the crowds really entering the gates) and fastpass what you can along the way. Late lunch should work well for you as you should have a number of rides out of the way by then. Find a good spot to watch spectro at least 30 to 40 minutes before the parade begins if you want to be upfront for good pictures. Have a great vacation.

One trip planning site usually shows Saturday as the best day to go to MK. Don't know how true that is though.

I can't remember the last time I was at MK on a Monday, but we go often on Tues, Thurs and Sat. There is a tremendous difference between those two weekdays and Saturday. When we go on a Tues am, we can cover so much territory in a little time.

I plan our trips never to be at any park on a Saturday... its just nose to nose..

For those of you that go in January, do you feel weekends are nose to nose all at all parks? Which is the best weekend day at which park?

I'm panicking now - since I have to utilize Sat and Sun!!

We go in the summer and I don't think weekends make a huge difference, but years ago we went in October (pre-F&W), and MK was a mess. I think Saturdays at MK are bad in the off-season because that's one of only a few days they have fireworks. I've never seen the kinds of crowds in summer that we saw that off-season Saturday night post-fireworks.

Depends on the season and what's happening. Back in May, Memorial Day weekend, Saturday was the recommended day, it was great, low crowds. No set answer.

relax. your trip will be just fine. saturdays are more crowded at the mk, but the mk is always the most crowded park. enjoy your time.

I can't tell you how crowed the parks are but we are going to be going to each park two times. I figure what I didn't get to do the first time we can
get to the second time. I have one day open to hit any of the parks to either
see something again or do something we may have missed.

January is ok. Of course the weekend closest to New Years is busy, and the federal holiday in Jan weekend is busy too, the others are not.

Oh no. I'm scheduled to go to MK on Monday and Saturday during my trip and I leave in 4 days!!!

I understand from Touring guides that Saturday is normally a travel day for a lot of people and is a good day for Mk. ( unless I read my TG wrong) that is the day I plan for MK. I remember when we took the kids when they were younger during January, I believe it was a Sunday we went to MK and early it was empty.

We did MK on a Sat in May and it was the best day of our whole trip. I have young girls, so we got there before opening and watched the train pull in. Then we cut through the castle and toured Fantasyland, no lines! We did more rides that day than any other day of our trip. Left when it got too hot.

We did MK the Sat. before T'giving and it was a breeze. From what we saw at the resort Sunday morning (as compared to Sat), everyone must have arrived on Saturday!

When extra magic hours falls on Sunday at MK (which it did the day after we went), it tends to be more crowded than Sat, IMHO. Just go early and get going on the rides and fastpasses! We were finished with everything, even shopping and lunch, by 2:00pm. We are SP holders and don't go on every single ride each visit, but did about 11 attractions plus shopping and lunch, posing for photopass pics, and posing with Stitch between 9-2.

I've rarely found Mk not to be busy! Due to school we travel at busy times. We always try to get MK at opening at stay until it gets to crazy and head elsewhere. Last june we had a good evening at MK becasue of a big thunderstorms that rumbled through and cleared out the crowds and eased the heat!
