Are round corners out of date?

The one thing everyone bought at my first CM party was a corner rounder (now corner maker). But looking at the layouts you post I see mostly square corners! Have round corners gone the way of kitten heels, or is there still a place for them?

I like them because they remind me of prints from the 70s (when round corners were new and sophisticated, and that's how pictures came back from the shop), and if the layout includes shapes such as ovals I think they look odd with square corners. But am I doomed to never sell another corner maker?

My friend rounds all of her corners and is frantic because her good corner rounder is MIA.

I do what feels right with each layout.

At CKC Valley Forge last year they said rounded corners are coming back.
I personally think it depends on the picture. For example a picture of Cinderella's castle could have rounded corners but something like Rockin' Roller Coaster would have square corners. I think the rounded corners soften the pics a bit.

I use my corner rounder a lot, but then I do leave the corners square a lot too. It all depends on the LO.

I think a combo of both is popular now. Like leaving the corners square by the edge of the paper (on both photos and paper) and then rounding towards the inside. Does that make sense?

I LOVE my corner rounder!! Do most of my pics w/ them.

I corner round 99% of my pictures. I'm a CMC and I think all my customers use the corner rounder too.

I have at least one pic with rounded corners on every LO I do. I LOVE my corner rounder.

I don't like the scrolly corner thing though. I've always thought it looked weird.

I'd list my corner-rounder as one of my top three tools, behind a straight edge trimmer and glue! I had no idea that rounded corners might be out of style!

I never use a corner rounder on my pics, but use it for making library pockets or other embellishments.. so it definately comes in handy.

Thank you all!

Re: the scallop corner rounder, I HATE it on photos but I do use it for photo mats or to make a title banner

Thank goodness I'm not out of style:rolleyes1

I use the scallop edger for more formal pictures, the corner rounder for softer pics, and leave everything else square. Most of my pictures are left square. Just the style I go for.

I use my corner rounder all the time! It is one of my more frequently used tools!

Sorry about the double posting. This is a classic example why one should not post before having caffeine early in the morning! LOL
