Are rooms at the Poly dark?

Trying to decide between the Poly and the GF for our trip next year. I've never stayed at either as we've always stayed at the WL. When checking out the rooms online and on youtube, the POLY looks very dark inside whereas the rooms at GF seem more bright and have more natural light? Is this the case?

We would be getting a DVC Studio if that helps....

GF is lighter and brighter, in part because of linen and furniture choices. It's a matter of taste.

If you aren't a DVC owner at the VGF, you are more likely to be able to get a Poly studio, however. It's a matter of demand and supply. There are only 47 DVC studios, and getting one typically requires a DVC owner at VGF booking at 11 months and waitlisting missing days.

do the rooms at the poly have inside hallways or are the doors to the room on the outside ( motel style?)

Inside hallway access. The ground floor rooms do have sliders to the outside but those don't have "keys" that allow you to access the room from the outside.

The theming of our Poly room did have a dark feel to it. Not unattractive but a very specific look that I personally wouldn't pick as my tastes lean towards lighter/brighter.

Poly definitely seems darker, but it fits the theme of the hotel.

I don't find them dark, especially after the refresh a couple of years ago. Check when the video was done and by whom. All ears videos give the best idea. To my mind they are fine. And yes they are inside hallways every where.

I loved the Poly, but it definitely seemed dark to me.

Love the light colors at the GF.

The Poly is dark. But, we didn't find it terribly darker than WL. Some but not majorly. If you are fine with WL I think you'd be fine at Poly. But, if you find WL to be slightly too dark then Poly will be too dark for you. If that makes sense.

First of all we do not like dark hotels. The Poly is a little bit dark. No darker than we found the WL to be though. Darker than the GF for sure, but that's the theme of the resort; a lush tropical oasis. We've stayed at the Poly 4 times and the GF once, which was during our last trip. No doubt the Poly was much more relaxing and is our favorite by far.

I found the WL to be very humid (especially as compared to YC). How does the Poly feel? (Like literally felt like almost two different climates between YC and WL - split stay so same weather - just based on location).

Poly is set in a more wooded/lush landscape, which can feel more humid. YC/BC is more beachy (naturally) so less trees/landscaping. It will not hold moisture like greenery will. So Poly may not feel as damp as WL but it will feel more than YC/BC

We've stayed at all three resorts... In my opinion the rooms at WL are the darkest, followed by the Polynesian. The GF rooms definitely have more natural light, and they're bright and airy. Especially the villas. The Grand is our favorite resort on property- beautiful, relaxing, elegant without being stuffy. Poly has a great vibe too, it's just a completely different feeling.
