Are rollaways NOT available at value resorts?

CRO told me that I can't get one at Pop Century. I know I've read of people having them at moderates so - does anyone know if it's true you can't get them at the value resorts?

I've asked the same question on the POP Century thread but thought someone else might know . . .

Have a good evening :)

I don't think you can get a roll-a-way bed at any Disney resort. We have 3 (use to be 4) kids and we always have to get two connecting rooms (unless we stay at deluxe with daybed). We were told you could not sleep five in a room designed for four unless you had a child under 3 years old.

Anyone else had a different answer?

We were able to get a rollaway at ASMu. CRO said they weren't available, but when we got to the room, on the fire code thing, it listed rollaways for $15/night. We called housekeeping, and they brought one right up. :) I think you just have to wait until you get there, and call housekeeping for one.

Rollaways are not for increasing room capacity, they are for those situations when 2 of your foursome are not going to work out in a double bed. (example: brother and sister getting up in age)

Yes, we got a rollaway, while staying at ASMu back in 2001. Boyfriend (at the time, not anymore) came down during the stay. New relationship, so it was not wise for him to be sleeping in my bed. I am sure that my mother didn't want him in my bed either.:p

But with the roll a way, what little room you have in the All Star rooms, is really gone. We had to put the bed by the door. So that every one could get to the bathroom. Then in the morning it had to put up, so that we could get out the front door. Good thing nothing bad happend, and we had to get out of the room fast.

What was funny was the bill, there would be a charge for the bed. Then two lines down the charge would be taken off. When we got back I ask my then boyfriend if he had gone to the front desk and paid for the bed, he hadn't. And it didn't show up on the credit card either.

Thanks for the replies. There's only 4 of us and my kids are young BUT - DS is an aggressive sleeper, one of those people who rolls all over and I can't see him and his sister being able to use the same bed. I thought I'd heard of people getting them before in moderates. I was thinking I might buy a twin air mattress or something for one child - I kinda hate to wait to see if a rollaway can be found when we get there. First time I've had to figure this out as before DD was little enough to sleep in a pack n play.

This is a great question. I also posted this question on a Pop thread. We will be there in Feb. and have two children who won't sleep well together. I hope you can get a reliable answer. Please post any updates for other angst-filled parents!

Thanks!

I could be wrong, but I think I read that the beds at Pop Century are not moveable. You might ask your question on the Pop Century thread. Tyler, a CM, has been wonderful answering questions on the new resort.

Hope this helps.

My understanding is that there are roll-aways available but they are not to be used to increase the number of people in the room. For example, when we're on vacation, we usually get a rollaway for my ds because we have 3 children and don't want him to sleep on the floor. Disney won't let us do this so that we could get 5 in a value resort. However, if you are within the number of persons allowed in the room (4 for value) you should be able to request a rollaway at check-in and get one. Your situation with 2 kids that can't sleep together is a good example. Ask at check-in and see what they can do for you. Another solution would be to get a room at Port Orleans in the Alligator Bayou section where you'll have 2 double beds plus a pull-out trundle bed. (Which is what we're doing.)

Thanks so much for your answer about the roll-aways. I was hoping that would be the case as long as we kept to the numbers for the room capacity. Do you think we need to alert them a couple days before we arrive or wait until we actually check in? I wouldn't want them to say, "We ran out, you should have told us?" Or will they just tell me that they can't guarantee anything until check-in? (I know, I regularily over think evrything!)

Thanks

Hi,
I called Pop Century's front desk also and was told there are no rollaways available - I think that's strange but that's what I was told.
I've been looking around and I might just buy a kid size sleeping bag with matching size air mattress. They have them at Target for about $30. I just don't want to wait till I get there and leave it to chance.
Thanks for all your help.
