I mean, marshmallows have no fat, the cereal doesn't have much, I know the butter does, and I put a lot of butter in it, but would half a pan of rice kripie treats for dinner be more fattening than a frozen pizza?

Well....can you stop at the half of pan of Krispie treats?:lmao:

On a more serious note...Either choice is fattening.

I don't know about the fat content, but don't they have a lot of sugar?? A whole pan??:crazy2:

Mold the rice krispie treats into vegetable shapes. Mind over matter. :thumbsup2

They would have lots of sugar, not fat. I could not fathom eating half a pan and I love them.

They are low in fat but high in sugar which in turn can turn to fat..... That's why if you eat a lot of fruit too you can gain weight.

I know what you mean about eating a lot at one time....

Not if you eating them while jumping up and down. Seriously, I would think frozen pizza and rice krispy treats would be about equally bad for you hence the reason they taste so good.

They're not as bad as I thought. If you cut a 13x9 pan into 16 squares(yeah right) the calorie count is about 160. But the recipe I looked at only contained 3 T of butter. So you're looking at about 1280calories, lol!

I'd say they're thinning!:thumbsup2

Especially if you spread them out really thin. That would make them less fattening than if you had thick chunks of 'em. :thumbsup2

(BTW - Never suggest a craving to a pregnant woman. I'm about to put my coat on right now. We have the marshmellows, but I need the krispies. Dang those ideas you put in my head! )

Um, ladies, there is a whole lot of BUTTER in rice krispy treats. Butter = fat. Marshmallows = sugar (calories). Any way you slice it, rice krispy treats are NOT super-healthy.

Awww come on, did you have to ruin my delusion???

They are not as fattening as eating brownie batter. Or a box of Thin Mints (DH last night).

Sometimes you get one bite and just can't stop......popcorn::

I'd go with the rice crispy treats. YUMMY!!!

IMO half of a 13x9 pan of rice krispie treats would have less fat than a frozen pizza, especially if the pizza had fattening meat toppings like pepperoni or sausage. However, there is lots of sugar in a rice krispie treat pan. If you used a reduced calorie margarine instead of real butter, that would help with the fat content.

In case you're interested, one rice krispie treat (1/12th of a 9x13 pan) has 2 points on Weight Watchers. One slice of a large cheese pizza (1/8th of a large pizza) has 6 points.
