Just wondering if you are gauranteed a perferred room in the Calypso building (I think this is the only building offering these rooms) if you pay the extra $$.

Has anyone gone down with paid ressies and been told they couldn't have a perferred room, with Disney crediting you, or something?

I've never heard of that happening. If you paid for a preferred room then that's what you should get. Not sure about the layout of ASMu but I can say without a doubt that at ASMo it's not worth the extra $ to stay in the preferred building. Actually I think the preferred building there tends to be the loudest because it is the closest to the pool. JMO ;) Just in case you want to save a few dollars!

I would agree with antkim. We stayed in Jazz in December and found it to be almost as close as Calypso. And it was incredibly quiet on the back side of the building!! Of course, having said that, I have asked for Calypso when we are there for 2 nights in August!! But, if you requested 'preferred' up front and you are paying for it, then you'll get it.

Thanks guys! I am thinking of this for our next trip - too many bathroom occupation issues! We need two bathrooms and the four beds! I just can't swing a two-bedroom villa or anything like that - and even though we loved AKL, it was a lot of walking! I'd rather be near the food court and laundry!

Thanks for your advice. Maybe I'll look into Jazz. Our next trip is a long way off :(

We stayed at the All-Star Music Resort in August and were in the Calypso Building number 10 on the back side of the building. I really liked this location and thought it was really worth the extra $10.00 a night for the preferred location. It was ver quiet on the back side of the building and we were so close to the main pool, the food court, the gift shop, the bus stops, etc. I personally recommend the Calypso Buildings but the Jazz Buildings would be good locations as well.
