Are Pre-RD ADRs still a smart plan?

I have several pre-RD breakfasts planned in December. Is this still a good strategy for being among the first to the rides?

That depends on how the final calendar shakes out. When are you going in December? At some point they will add some more park hours, including some that mess with pre-park open ADRs.

AK TuskerHouse, HS Hollywood and Vine, MK Crystal Palace. I have realized I will need to change the Crystal Palace. We are going the week of the 12th.

You can see in the other thread about BOG that the experience can vary greatly. I don't know if it is Disney's policy or if it is left to the whims of the CM in place but some people are let in early while others have been held until the masses go first. It would be nice if WDW would be consistent.

Keep an eye on the schedule. Maybe try to schedule some back up ADRs on different days in case you decide to make changes. We have gone in that time period and had park open time moved back to 8 AM in the MK more than once. Not sure if they do that at the other parks.

It's not a great plan ride-wise lately and can be random. You can get stuck at a slow breakfast or have to queue at the end of the rope drop line.

For the purpose to get on rides early, no. It is a very bad idea. It may backfire as often as it works and it working or not is out of your control.

If you want to eat at that location and the chance of an early ride is just a bonus then sure, go for it

As others have said, it CAN be a good idea, but make sure you keep an eye on the park hours. They WILL change for parts of December.
