Are Playmobil toys ever on sale?

DD5 got the Playmobil zoo last Christmas, and a few accessory sets since then. She loves animals and pretending, so these have been great toys for her, even though the zoo was pretty expensive. The only places I know of that sell them in our area are a Learning Express toy store, and one other local specialty shop. Both have high prices. Does anyone know of other stores or websites that have them? Do they ever go on sale?

I got that zoo for $40 when my local store was going out of business! That was my first Christmas purchase of the season. I can't wait. It looks so cool.
Now I can say I have seen them onsale at those specialty type stores and I believe the Learning Express puts them on sale twice a year. (I know ours does but they don't have many playmobile sets)
Our local smaller stores do have sales Get your name on a mailing list for some of the smaller ones(and the Learning Express) so that you will know when a sale is coming.

I've seen them on sale at Target every so often. Can't speak to exactly WHAT is on sale, just that I've seen Playmobil stuff on sale.

I've seen them at least a couple of times last year at our Tj Maxx.

We just purchased the pirate ship @ Target in June. I can't say I have ever seen them on sale, but I bet they are cheaper @ Target than the learning store. Maybe they have them at Target dot com if you don't have a Target near you.

Our toys r us carries a limited selection - and I've used those $10 off $50 or $100 coupons that come in the mail on them. Target also carries a few sets that they put on sale sometimes. We love the Playmobil advent calendar and you can almost always find that on sale at Target. I'm not sure what area you're in, but here in the NW Fred Meyer also has a few sets that are marked down a ton right now. One last idea, our local teacher store carries them, and I get a discount with my teacher id. If you know a teacher you could ask them to buy for you! (Can you tell I have a couple of Playmobil-ers too? ) GL!

I love Playmobil!

I've seen them discounted at TJMaxx and Marshalls and they're sometimes on sale at Target, but they have a very limited selection.

playmobil.com has all the toys. No idea on shipping- but I looked at the micro sets and I bought 2 for $9.99 last month at the Playplace while it's $1 cheaper on-line.

Both my kids love Playmobil but they are expensive....so I'll just stick with the 1 hr drive (each way) every month or so and go to the Playplace. (If anyone is in South FL check it out- it's a great way to spend a day w/ the kids)

Try ridgeroadstation.com. Someone on the DIS suggested it to me last Christmas. I was able to get the big zoo for about $20 less than I could find it anywhere. I was very pleased with them!

About 1 week ago, I bought the Playmobil Knight's Dungeon for $9.98 (50% off) at Target. I found it on an endcap.

Thanks for the suggestions, everybody. I looked at ridgeroadstation.com like Jules123 suggested, and ordered several animal sets for DD's birthday and Christmas. They were less expensive (some significantly less) than I've seen them in the stores, and they were offering free shipping on orders over $40. Can't beat that! I'll keep my eyes open for good deals at the other stores you all mentioned, too.

Try craigslist as well. My friend just sold a ton of used playmobile on craigslist recently. My 12 year old still plays with his and since everyone would buy some for him for holidays he has a huge toychest full of it.

They do have a website playmobil.com and there are sales sometimes on those. I have also seen them at Target especially around Christmas. Also try ebay and keep your eyes open at yard sales. I bought most of my son's playmobil at Target.

I have to third the ridgeroad site. It is great we are a real playmobil family and I order from here a lot. Best prices I have found. Wish they were around when my DD was little. My DS got the electric train for Christmas and they were easily the best price and free shipping and no tax on a 200 dollar order, that helps. You can't beat Playmobil! My nephew has some Playmobil knights I bought him at Epcot about 18 yrs ago and they are still in great shape.
