Are Palo & Remy all you can eat?

We never got out of Palo or Remy hungry. Quite the opposite, sometimes we even pass on a course (sadly because everything is great)...

We did Remy in 2017 on the Fantasy. I didn’t know we could have extra. I would love to try more food as we were total foodies! We thought the food amount was just right. We didn’t feel hungry or stuffed. It was an enjoyable meal!

I’ve now completed 16 cruises with DCL, dining at Palo each time and at Remy the three times we’ve been on the Fantasy. Only once have we had any difficulty ordering a smaller serving or half portion of something we wanted to try. Our server said we should select an appetizer and entree, and he would present the dessert menu later. This was very different from all our other experiences with the upcharge dining rooms. That was in Palo on the Fantasy last November. Our server then would not let me order a half portion of one of the pasta dishes (the mushroom risotto) or a small serving of the scallops from the seafood entree list, both of which I have done routinely on other cruises. He said the chef would not permit it. In the end, we did order an extra full entree of the scallops which DW and I shared, but the server made it very clear that it was a “special accommodation” by the chef. The server didn’t even bring an extra plate to assist us with splitting the serving. This was a major disappointment in terms of our expectations in dining at Palo.

On the recent WBPC cruise on the Wonder, I enjoyed a full dining experience at Palo, with antipasto, soup, small order of pasta, half order of scallops, the rack of lamb entree, and the amaretto soufflé. A proper six-course Italian dinner.
