Ok I need many many many Disney planning fixes so I did some figuring
I used my dates in May for 5 nights 1 adult 1 child pop century preferred.
Hotel and tickets purchased separately through Disney
$1169.00
Hotel with AAA discount and through hubbys corporate perks site (
undercover tourist was down so I used hubbys site)
$1049 (thats with 6 day ticket...can do 7 day for $7 less)
Package though Disney
$1172 Now a Disney package does offer a little more. Free 5X7, Planet Hollywood $15 voucher , one round of miniature golf per room and discount on water mice rental.
With AAA you can still get the % discount off of the room portion of the package. (for instance I have booked a package through AAA and I'm saving about $100)
Where I do see a package is a very good deal is if you eat at table service restaurants during your trip. And personally I think it saves you lots. Sit down and work out the numbers. Figure what you spend in food in relation to what the different dining plans offer. It might be a good deal for you too.
If you did decided to book a package your TA could book it and still apply discounts that come up. Unless you get an AAA discount. You would have to book and make changes through them, But even then. If you have a reservation booked through AAA and you see a code here you can call them to try to apply it.
So I guess it all boils down to how much not dealing with reservations is to worth to you?
