Are other MGM attractions open during Fantasmic?

Park hours are listed as 9 am-9 pm. Fantasmic is listed for 9 pm. Are any other attractions open after 9 pm? I read a post about how it was easy to get onto TOT and RnR during Fantasmic. Do you think the poster did that during the first show on a night where there were two shows of Fantasmic?

If the posted closing time is 9pm, then that's when they will stop letting folks in line.

Many times Fantasmic runs while the park is still open (notably on EMH nights), but apparently not during the day you reference.

Yes, I think that's a real possibility. When we were there last week, 1st show was 7:30 and 2nd was 9 (we went to the 1st).

Seems like if all those who wanted to see Fantasmic were lining up 1-2 hours early, the rest of the park should clear out a lot by about 7:30 or so (for a 9 pm showing of Fantasmic)...true, or not?

We had the Fantasmic dinner package, so we didn't do the lining up thing. We headed over to the entrance close to 7 and, truthfully, MGM still seemed crowded (maybe less crowded because others were in line for Fantasmic but hard to tell). It was Easter/Spring Break, and my guess is that the crowds were still there even with people going to Fantasmic.

The 2nd show, supposedly, doesn't require lining up as early as the first show -- so again, not sure. We left right after our show was over (about 8 PM) and the park didn't seem packed, so if you just wanted rides then 8-9 PM looked promising. Don't recall any shows except Fantasmic running at dark.

I do think you have a good strategy, worth giving it a shot, especially at non-peak times.

We've been able to do RnR repeatedly during the summer while people were going into Fantasmic for their seats (I want to say in the last half hour before the park closed)

When we've went in the summer, usually if there is one show - it's been at 9:00 when the park closed. If there are two shows, the parks would close at 10:00, and one show would be at 9 and the other at 10:30

when we were there in jan. while the show was going on during an EMH night, we skipped the show and went and walked right on ToT and RnR 2x. seemed like we had the park to ourselves until the show let out but even then it was just resort stayers, so it was like our own private party, and you could just go at your leisure. (this was also during off season ;) )
