Are Orbitz discounted rooms disappearing?

When checking room availability today at Deluxe Disney resorts, the Orbitz room rates are coming up as rack rates. I've checked many different periods, with the same result. The current promo code will deduct 15% off, but even with the code, Disney is now coming out much lower, using their Spring promo.

I can only speak for my particular dates (week leading up to Easter), but the Orbitz deal was really sweet back on Jan 2 when I booked it. I have been checking back on Orbitz occasionally and noticed most of the discounted rooms have sold out for my particular dates. I think, like Disney, they only have so many discounted rooms and once those rooms are booked, the discount is gone (besides their standard 15%....).

This is around the time I booked through Orbitz as well. They had the Disney discounts + their discount code on top of it. Disney may be in between discount-release periods.

I'm seeing the same thing. The Spring offer just changed today (all the discounts went down by 5%), so perhaps Orbitz or Disney has to re-load the discount rates. I'd wait a bit (24 hours or so) and see what comes up.

Edit: Expedia is showing the same rates, and they usually have the room discounts as well, so I'm guessing Disney hasn't loaded the discounted rates for OTAs yet.

Interestingly enough, the only OTA that seems to be offering discounted RO rates today is Priceline, with their regular rates (not bidding). I see some deluxe Disney resorts with 30% discounts. Other sites, such as Orbitz, Expedia, etc. are still quoting rack rates.

Hmmm, you guys are probably right and it must be because of the Disney spring offer changing yesterday. I noticed it usually takes the Orbitz site a few days to get the "new" Disney deals loaded.

They were great over the weekend, then noticed yesterday, they had all gone up.

I noticed that the same morning that Disney's discount went from "up to 30%" to "up to 20%" earlier this week that the Disney discount disappeared from Orbitz, leaving only the 15% off with the travelhappy code.

Oh, just read shoreward's post and went back to try orbitz again for our dates. You're right! Some of the resorts have the availability and that spring resort discount again. Thanks, and sorry for my old info above!

Thanks for posting. I just went to Orbitz to check my dates/rates and am so happy I booked a while ago immediately after the Spring deal plus 15% was loaded onto Orbitz! I've checked on and off since then and my room/rate has been gone from there. I'm so thrilled with my deal. Even on the Disney site where I had originally booked, my deal is long gone. We are going Easter week, so I'm sure people (including me) scarfed up the deals quickly. I'm saving close to 42% off at BC CL!! Thanks to you guys for posting and Orbitz for the great deal.

The Caribbean Beach rates on Orbitz still seem to be decent. Just an FYI
