Are, or did your parents divorce?

My parents have been married for 43 years. They definitely had their ups and downs -- a lot of in-law issues and meddling -- but they stayed together.

They seem happier now than they ever have been. They travel a lot, are more financially secure, they get out more socially now that all of us kids are out of the house. They've certainly been a work in progress, but ultimately they worked.

I am not divorced, but I was also never married to my son's father. We were together 3 yrs when I had him and split up when he was 6 weeks old.

I've now been married for nearly 11 years. My parents have been married for 37 years, my exes parents have been married over 40 yrs and still going, and my husbands parents divorced before his 1st birthday.

Separated, then got back together only because it was cheaper. Really should have divorced. Or never having gotten married in the first place. They are constantly miserable with each other.

I can't image over 50 yrs of being so unhappy.

my parents were both married before, so this was their second marriage. it lasted 27 years tho. however....i don't really think they're all that happy with each other. my mother has told me before that she wanted a divorce at one point.

My parents are divorced my mom has been remarried for 28 years. My dad just divorced #4. I have been married 17 years and that's longer than any of my dads marriages have lasted.

My parents got divorced when I was in 3rd grade, my Mom remarried when I was in 8th grade but divorced again a couple years later and never remarried after that. My Dad remarried when I was in 9th grade and they are still married now. DH's parents will celebrate 50 years in November. Dh and I have been married for 20 years now.

My parents got married when I was 7 and divorced when I was 16. They had been together for 17 years at that point.

My dad just got remarried and my mom lives with her boyfriend but has said "she's already walked down that road" and isn't interested in marrying again.

as for me, i've had one broken engagement (which came with a busted up face.) Which was the smartest decision i think i've ever made in my entire life

MY parents did not divorce, so I voted 'no', but my dad was married before he married my mom.

DH's parents divorced when he was 11 (he's 43 now). His mom remarried (and is still married) when he was 13. His dad is on wife #3. They've been married about 12 years.
