So I talked to my Dad last and my Step Mom after she arrived from airport.

My Dad's sugar levels are still way too high, he is sitting around 640 and 300 puts you in the hospital. It is effective his speech, and thought process.

They have tried 3 different drugs to bring his sugars down.

But he is being watched and will remain until tomorrow if they can get his sugar under control.

Yeah - thanks. They haven't signed yet tho. I am going through their lender now and just about to get the preapproval so that better push the signature. Sheesh.

Find house

Get preapproved same day

Make offer

But now they want us to use a diff bank

Oh to add more things to the crazy mix that is my life, my boss started making noise about going to cleveland next month (the week before I leave for Hawaii). I was like - ummm no

They had a bad experience with a loan falling through with my bank. Well I don't want that to happen to me either and if the rates are similar could be fine.


So tiny update... no signed papers yet but my realtor called me and said the guy said he can't sign til he gets out of work but there is no indication he is entertaining other offers or wanting to renegotiate any further.

He is a flipper so he sells a lot so I am sure signing is not a big deal to him (but it is to me!)

Agent called me and said other agent said it's a done deal and we will have papers in the morning. Am currently sifting through the fee schedules of the 2 lenders to see what I wanna do. And dreaming of swimming!!

Yup so far it looks like my bank has less fees by about 1k and the loan officer working with me is SUPER attentive and helpful. The other one is who the seller prefers. The only plus I can see w them is that they might be more lenient w the appraisal as the preferred lender. Thoughts?

Same interest rate. My bank when I asked for the fee schedule called me when he sent it and went line by line so I understood.

I think this, too. Explain the extra K in fees. If they're adamant, maybe they can knock it off the price?

Most of the diff comes from the fact my bank is giving me an $800 credit for being a preferred client. Then there are various differences in other fees and one other biggie to a $300 or so diff (title insurance)

Both are fixed rate, same term, same downplay, same percentage.
