If not, can someone please explain the differences to me?

Also, if my sister purchases memory maker on her account, do we have to have her magic band there each time a photo is taken to "link" it (or whatever it's called). Or can we use any of ours as long as we are linked in her friends and family list? Can a kids band be used?

Thank you!

I had photo pass plus last time. Is it kinda the same? Do I still come home and look at all the pics and edit them as before? Is the only difference instead of putting them on a CD when I'm done I just download them to a file on my computer?

Anyone who is on your sister's Friends and Family list would be able to have their pictures included on her Memory Maker by using their own magic band, including children.

Memory Maker is basically the same as the PhotoPass+ CD, except there's no CD - it's strictly download. You can still edit them by adding borders, cropping, etc.

We always pre-purchase Memory Maker before our trip and then edit and download all pictures after our trip is over. This trip we had my mom and sister with us. They got numerous pictures taken without us, just scanned their bands and the pictures were there. I had linked them on my account before the trip so I could set up FP+ for everyone.
You can purchase the CD with all the pictures on it if you want; it's $30. If you watch for deals you can get the CD for less, for our August trip we waited until the pictures were about to expire and the CD price went to $20. We bought it just to have the extra copy.

If I don't pre purchase the memory maker can I still use my band to have pictures taken and see them later with an option to buy? I have a fairly short trip planned in May and probably only want a digital copy of 1-2 photos. This isn't our 1st trip and won't be our last so not worried about having tons of photos.

Absolutely.

Absolutely.

Can anyone tell me, when using this standard Photopass service (as opposed to Memory Maker), can they still be linked to the Magic Band, or do they scan them onto one of the old Photopass cards that they give you to view the pictures later?

Photopass is the "free" service of having photographers take your photos
Memory Maker is paying for the rights to download the photos.

There is nothing you can do with the photopass photos without memory maker. Photopass is just the actual process/system of taking the photos. Memory maker is the only way to keep the photos beyond the 45 day auto deletion date. The photos you can see in the MDE app and online are heavily water marked, and useless.

The cards and the magic bands are all the same for photoapss photos. They both go to your MDE account, though you have to manually link the cards, the magic bands are automatic.

Either works - if you have magic bands, the photographer will scan them to code the photos to your account for viewing and purchase. If you don't have magic bands, the same is accomplished with a Photopass card instead.

I'm mostly wondering if I can still get photos taken by the Photopass photographers, view them online, and order the few that I want, as opposed to paying the $150 for Memory Maker.

I'll give you the same answer I gave mlhsb who asked the same question in post #7 - absolutely.
