Prohibited Lighters and Matches
LIGHTERS
Carry-on Rules
As of April 14, 2005, you are no longer allowed to bring lighters (fueled or without fuel) in carry-on luggage or on your person.
Checked Baggage Rules
That is a pretty confusing statement.
As of April 14, 2005, you are no longer allowed to bring lighters (fueled or without fuel) in carry-on luggage or on your person.
"As always, ALL fueled lighters are banned from checked baggage for safety reasons. "
Department of Transportation exemption
"Lighters without fuel are not considered hazardous material and therefore are permitted in unlimited quantities in checked baggage."
Ah yes, our government at work. This makes you want to throw up both your hands and holler.
