Are lanyards necessary?

There very helpful but you can keep your card in other places.

I never use them as I always have a pocket to keep my KTTW card, even in my bathing suit.

I agree with you! I don't like the feel of a lanyard. I either put my Key in my pocket or with my phone in a small cross- shoulder bag. -- Suzanne

Agreed, I like to use these wonderful things called pockets!

Nothing hangs around your neck, they don't blow around in the wind. I think pocket are much better than the lanyards.

I'm not generally a fan of lanyards but, strangely enough, on board I tend to wear one all the time. Go figure.

I only wear lanyards on cruises......I like seeing my card. Pockets make me think I would lose it.
DH never uses a lanyard, nor does DD

My 12 year old has always used the lanyard, while hubby, 15yo & I don't care for them. 12 yo also keeps her arcade card there too.

I'm a no lanyard vote but OH wears his all the time.
Even the new softer material itches my neck!

We always use lanyards and found they were great to use onboard our cruise, I bought the regular cruise one, but my sister bought the DCL lanyard with the velcro pouch. She found the pouch easier to use because we could put our room KTTK card in it, and the card readers on board could read the card through the pouch. Plus the pocket was big enough for us to put our sea sickness medication in, so we didn't have to race back to our cabin every 3-4 hours

Any lanyard that has a plastic pocket should work. The KTTW cards are standard, credit-card size. You can get plain lanyards at Walmart. If you are looking for Disney lanyards you should be able to find them on line. DCL lanyards will be available for purchase on the ship.

Office supply stores have generic lanyards and pouches. Party City and Walmart have Disney ones for about a buck.

I use a Vera Bradley lanyard with a cheap plastic holder. It is comfy and stylish.
You can usually get them under $10 in the outlets.

I bought ours from the Disney Store.

They are normally $8.95, but I got them quite a bit cheaper when they had a sale not too long ago. They seem to have sales pretty often. The fabric on the lanyard part is nice and soft. I've had some lanyards that are itchy - these are not. The little wallet is a nice size and not heavy.

I've got a pink leather Coach lanyard that I can use also

I made mine out of paracord. I'm used to wearing one at conventions, so it's not big deal to me. That said, I didn't always use a lanyard on our last cruise. It was probably 50/50.
