Are Kids invited to the Castaway Club Party?

We have been on 3 cruises, and have never been to the Castaway Club party (we do get the invitation, but have just never gone).

We tend to spend most of our time together as a 'family'. So my question is:

Do children come to this party?

What is included there? Are drinks free? Does that include 'smoothies' (asuming kids can come).

Can I get a Strawberry Daquari? Or is that wishing for too much :D .

What is this party like?
Thanks!

We always bring our son and there are other children present. They provide a non-alcoholic fruit punch for the children AND the Ship's Crew (Captain and Officers) always make a big fuss over them.

I have seen where it's been a big buffet table with ice carving (both times on the Magic) and in December the Wonder had servers bringing small dishes to the table with vegetables and fruit.

I don't think they will do the self-serve buffet anymore but then again, I'm just a passenger!!!

Enjoy!!

We always see lots of kids at the party. There are non-alcoholic drinks and lots of sweets to make it kid-friendly. The reason that people are being served instead of having the buffet is the Norwalk insanity, but hopefully it will change back to the old way (although I must admit that I like to be one of the first in the buffet lines because I've seen lots of kids handle the little hors d'ouvres and then plop them back down...I think they look a bit to exotic so they change their minds after taking a close look!). Bring the little ones and enjoy the party.

My daughter has come a couple of times but she doesn't go any more, it's "boring" to her. ;) She'd much rather stay in the Lab, and we'd much rather enjoy a quiet drink and meet the crew alone. :)

Kids are certainly WELCOME but it's a quick reception (45 minutes) and if they are engrossed in something else they are enjoying I wouldn't take them away from it to attend the CC reception.

Well Barb, I agree with you - be the first in line and then we don't have to worry about the KWOPS (kids without parental supervision) handling the food (BIG YUCK!)

Our son likes to "meet" the Captain, and that's the ONLY reason he insists on coming. BUT he knows he is not allowed to get anything from the buffet by himself - now that's OUR rule and I don't intend to start anything with anyone.

And yes, I do hope we get back to self-service on the buffet. I hate asking for more shrimp and cocktail sauce but it's all I really want when we have our embarkation meal.

Just call me "piglet"!
