Are "In Loving Memory" windshield decals a thing in your area?

I'm seeing them more and more, are they a regional thing? Would you put one on your car?

I see them here regularly, but it seems (based on what I see reading the names and looking at the people driving the cards) that it is prevalent only among one particular ethnic group.

I live outside of Chicago and I've seen it all! One young girl was killed and her family puts colorful cups spelling her name in the fence on an overpass (they get away with it going on 5 years! oddly the girl has a formal memorial at her old school a statue and small garder...so why the cups????) another girl was killed crossing the street and the family/friends put up a crazy shrine on the corner - the gas station took it all down but put a small statue marking the place. (much better IMO)

I notice it from a wide variety of ethnic people around here.

Sometimes I think friends maybe overstep their bounds putting some of these up, without the family's permission. A co-worker was upset that a memorial was taken down, and surprised to learn that it was at the family's request. A lot of well meaning friends did not know that the 17 year old girl killed was drunk and going 100+ mph at the time of the crash, 4 blocks from her home. It was a painful loss for her parents, and that memorial so close to their home was just too much for them.

I see it occasionally. Not something I would do, as I tend to be a very private person and see no reason to advertise my grief to strangers. Still I won't judge others if they feel differently.

As for roadside memorials, if it's temporary, I don't mind it, but I think they should be removed when a reasonable amount of time has passed. They can be a distraction to drivers and an eyesore when they're not maintained. I guess my feeling is, on a vehicle you own, it's ok to decorate any way you want, but on state or private property that's not yours, it's trespassing.

Western MD here and I have never seen one
Really? I'm in Western MD too and see them everyday. There are quite a few with an image of a person riding a dirt bike with Angel wings (different birth and death dates so it's not for the same person). And most are full sized on the back windshield with a poem or paragraph of writing.

I'm on the Eastern Shore, I see them here frequently, and I'm up in the Cumberland/LaVale are a lot and see them often up there as well...I'll freely admit I don't care for them.
I also see a lot of those "in loving memory" stickers on cars....as I told my husband, if I die please don't dedicate the back of your truck to me, I won't care. But I will come back to haunt you.

I do see them around the Midwest. I never really thought about it until someone jokingly said "So, that POS vehicle is 'in memory' of your loved one?"
I think people think that the sticker itself is 'in memory', but in reality, you are dedicating whatever you stick that decal to.
