Mod,
Are the posts constantly advertising one's business allowed, with the obnoxiously oversize pics???

I do not get all the golf cart talk....If you want one, get it. If not, don't.. I don't need two or three Mickey's Premium ice cream bars everyday, but I eat them. It's my money, and my vacation. We love the carts, others don't. Some like certain rides, and some don't. Thats what makes us all different.

Are they necessary? No. Do they make things more convenient? Absolutely.

This is the 4th time I've stayed at FW - 2nd as an adult. It's the first time I've had access to a cart (a friend lent us his to bring along). DW suffers from problems with her achilles tendons from years on her feet as an RN. Last time we were at FW, the busses ran so irregularly that we ended up walking most everywhere only aggrivating the problem

Now that we've experienced FW with a cart, I don't know that we'll ever come back without one because it makes it so much easier to get around and DW is sooooo much happier. Bikes would do just as well, but then we'd have to keep up with 4 of them.

Since he doesn't have the name of his business advertised in his posts, it's ok. Some people here like to see the pictures of the different carts.

Tungpo: If you could figure out how to get the pictures a little bit smaller, it would be nice. :)

Sorry about that Rhonda I dont know how to resize them I've tried and I ruin them LOL but I will tryn again.

Hey, I love looking at the golf carts very much. We own a very nice custom lifted club car. I just hate to see the thread clogged like that --and from experience on other boards I know they don't allow soliciting...sorry!

What i don't get is why this is the only board that enforces the picture/size rule. any other board you go to, you will see a ton of huge pictures but they are left on there.
If you don't like seeing large pictures don't look at the PICTURE OF THE DAY THREAD! i don't consider that clogging though, i really enjoy those pictures and glad they're not restricted.

Tungpo,

I used a page on google and it sized the pictures for me. If you have a google account, PM me and I will let you know how to size them. If you don't have a google account, PM me and I will send you an invitation. Personally, the pictures are neat and you and GatorDad were the inspirations for my newly painted, no longer pink, cart. I hope this helps you out a bit.:thumbsup2

Is there not anything else better than this to worry about? One of my favorite things to do each day is to look at the pic of the day. I don't care if it's a large pic or not. This board is usually great but lately it seems we have a lot of whiners. I guess politics can play in just about anything.

I wasn't whining. I was just used to being able to post any size pic we want on this board. I posted a much smaller picture of something on another board and got an "infraction" PM that i had to resize it. All i'm saying is i wish the DIS would be consistent because what you can get away with, as it relates to picture posting, is different on each board. i LOVE the picture of the day thread and i like the pictures bigger cause you can see all the detail. It's like being able to see everyone's fort picture albums.

Just my 2 cents: Dh and I have stayed in the cabins at Fort Wilderness too many times to cound in the last 20 years. We have never rented a golf cart and never felt like we needed one.

One last comment on picture sizes, (and I'm no angel) there may be a few here that still use dialup :scared1:, so smaller pictures help them a great deal.:disrocks:

Hi Donna,

There is no limit on how big a picture can be in a post. We do have a limit on how big a picture can be in a signature though. That must be what happened to you.

Sorry for any confusion!

We vote for getting a cart. With 3 kids under 5, a stroller, backpack, etc. it would take us forever to walk to the marina or pool depending upon which loop your in. Even if your centrally located it is still a long way and hauling all that stuff on and off a bus could be trying, and you at least had to haul it down to the bus stop. Now it is not that I don't like to walk but it is more of a time issue. :hourglass: We go to a park just about everyday and I like to enjoy them as much as possible, which means not spending 45 minutes getting to the marina or the main bus stops. The cart allows us to step out of the TT, pile everything on and go...5 minutes later were waiting for the MK boat! Plus, as stated before, at 10pm when I'm carrying 2 sleeping kids and pulling a double stroller, the marina walkway is plenty long and it is nice to have that cart waiting to ride home and feel the cool breeze on your face. Now, when my kids are old enough to ride a bike, :woohoo: forget about it!! It will be bikes from then until I'm to old to ride one, when I will probably rent a cart again.
