Are glasses sexy?

I know one person who bought some smart glasses with no prescription grade lens! He just wanted to wear glasses! What say you DISers?

I dunno, I wear them a lot because I can't see anything. However , socially and for pictures I always take them off. I am kind of insecure.

I am nearsighted and have worn glasses since I was in first grade and also tend to take them off for pictures and when I can.

Maybe it's this round of midlife crisis that I'm in at the moment, but right now...no. Well, unless we're counting cute sunglasses. That's an entirely different story.

Seriously though...I had shifted to wearing glasses full time a few years ago when I moved to a progressive style lens. I have two really nice pairs of prescription glasses, but I recently sat on the pair I wear more regularly and broke the joint piece holding one of the arms. Yes, I could take them in to get them fixed or buy an entirely new pair; however, I instead reached for my supply of contacts sitting in the cabinet and have gone back to wearing them full time with a pair of readers handy when needed. It's not the only part of my visual appearance midlife crisis overhaul, but I will say that I feel much more attractive when I see myself without any glasses.

I opt to wear contacts. I think glasses work for some people, but I don’t think they look great on me. I also see better in my contacts. I do enjoy a cute pair of sunglasses.

Eyeglasses are like any other accessory. Different styles will give you different looks. Some frames may make you appear nerdy, some may make you look avant garde, some may make you look older, some may make you look younger, and some may make you look more attractive than others. There are people who buy them without prescription lenses because they want to project a particular look just like they might wear certain jewelry or shoes.

I have been wearing glasses since I was nine, and went through a few decades of wearing contact lenses with glasses as a backup. The biggest lesson I learned is that I can’t just wear glasses because they are a trendy style at the moment. When those really short and wide lenses that look like readers were in style they made me look ridiculous. I look much better in a medium sized lens. I have to try new frames on to make sure they look good on me.

In answer to the topic question, I think it is the person who makes the glasses “sexy” not the other way around.
