Are gift cards impersonal?

OP here!! I have to say that I am surprised by the results of the poll so far. I myself LOVE receiving gift cards, but I was always under the impression that people thought it was impersonal to get gift cards. This makes me extremely happy because I purchased gift cards for a lot of my family members. They all have everything they need and I couldn't come up with a gift that I didn't think was lame. YIPPEEE!!!

I sure do love that dancing banana! That's the same dance I do when I find out that I have received a gift card.
