Have the higher gas prices made a noticable difference at Disney World. I figure that it won't change anything for the out of towners who have already planned a trip but I wondered about the spur of the moment trips. Thanks for your opinion.
We have been planning our trip for the past year. And we are driving from Niagara Falls, NY. We purchased a pre-paid visa card (Green Dot) and put money on it ($450.00) and we are using it just for gas. We decided to do this so that we have it budgeted out and don't have to pay another bill when we get home.
We live about 2-3 hours from Disney and gas prices do get to us but it's not a deciding factor about going to Disney or not. In fact, Gainesville has the highest prices in the state according to AAA so we actually pay less for gas when going to Orlando than we would for the same gas at home. What affects us going are room rates and availability more than the gas prices do.
I definitely go somewhat less than I used to go.I live in Miami and I used to go an average of maybe once every 3 weeks, now it's probably 4-5 weeks!Even with a reasonably economical car it's like $60+ round trip!
Can't help with Disney locals, but driving habits and traffic up here (gas is around $3.15 a gallon) haven't changed a bit. Folks still hitting 80+ on the Interstate, tons of traffic over the Memorial Day weekend.
