Are Female Face Characters no longer allowed to?

So I've noticed on our last couple of trips that I've not seen any kids with lipstick on their cheeks or foreheads from getting kissed by the princesses or stepsisters etc. So are they no longer allowed to do so? On our very first trip my then 6 y/o DS got kissed by Snow White at epcot then on a MK day got kissed by both step sisters as they "fought" over him. Also my 11mo DS got kissed by Cinderella and my DD4 got kissed by Sleeping Beauty. Seems like if they're no longer allowed to do so its just a little more magic Disney has taken out of the experience. I know I'm being nostalgic but I remember our first day walking into DHS and they'r being characters all over the place as we walked in and it's still one of my favorite pics I have of my DD. It seems like now rather than characters being allowed to roam and be out and about you have to seek them out more.

I would think that they're wearing lip color that doesn't transfer, otherwise they would have to fix their lipstick constantly.

I imagine the kissing thing could be to keep everyone healthy and avoid spreading germs. And for lipstick to last the entire time they're in character, kissing kids for their parents photo ops may not be the best way to prolong it

I think what the OP meant was the kissing, not the roaming. I have no information to relay on that subject though.

Yes I just meant the kissing and it wasn't something you could ask them to do it was just something they would do spontaneously and on their own. Now they would or at least Snow White did tell me to get my camera ready but myself and for sure my DS had no idea what was coming.

Characters can no longer free roam, plus, as of the last couple years, they have gotten rid of random meet & greets with the lesser known characters....both of these events have caused longer lines for all meet & greets and IMHO hasn't benefited anyone.

My 5 year old got at kiss from Cinderella in December.

I would assume that they're wearing longer-lasting lip stains as opposed to lipstick. It just makes much more sense since they're usually at their M&G locations for quite some time, especially in the heat & humidity. Lip stain doesn't transfer like lipstick does. Having something that's longer-wearing means they can be at their M&G for a longer amount of time without having to rush off to reapply.

We were there this past December, and DS(2) had lipstick in his hair from Snow White at CRT. After that, we were outside when Anastasia came over on her way to her spot behind the castle. She grabbed DS and planted a kiss on his forehead (while Lady Tremaine tried to pull her away). The photopass photographer captured it, and the pictures are absolutely adorable!

The last time we had experience with kisses that intentionally left lip prints was with Ariel in 2007. I don't think they do it anymore unfortunately. It was so cute to see the kids' reactions to their princess kisses.

DD got a kiss from Sleeping Beauty during our trip 2 years ago at Akershus that left lipstick marks. I think they still do it, but they have never done it for every child so it is a hit or miss sort of thing. If they did it for every kid, they would constantly be applying lipstick.

Our two year old daughter got kisses from Ariel in Akershus and then from Mulan at her M&G location in the same day last July so she had one on each cheek. It is one of our favorite pictures of her first trip to Disney.

I don't think they've put a rule in place banning this. If anything on your trip you just didn't have it happen to you and you just didn't immediately spot anyone that had it happen to them. But just because you don't see something happening doesn't mean it's been eliminated, just might not of been your luck this trip. For a long while now the characters for the most part have been restricted to permanent locations but this has been this way for awhile now. While I'm sure they also used to just roam and do more random sets, you have to remember that we didn't always have the amount of information about character meet and greets that we do now. So character experiences that we might have thought have been random and unplanned could have indeed been very planned and scheduled and happened everyday, we just weren't aware of that. However, I think the situations have been made safer for the characters, having an attendant and a set line. The idea of random and roaming characters sound fun, but it just turns into a mob scene and it's hard to get anyone close one on one time with the character.

Has anyone been kissed by a face character ever since the measles outbreak was traced to a citizen from a foreign country visiting Disneyland?

DL offered measles vaccinations free of charge to all CMs. I'm sure Disney also put mandatory safety precautions into place.

They still had CMs with them when they were out and about. And as far as the kisses I'm glad they still exist, didn't care if it happened for us or not but I'm always watching for this type of stuff for others as well as you can tell it lights up the kids faces. I guess I've just missed it but I'm glad to hear it's still happening.

Kissing doesn't make a difference with measles transmission. If you're breathing the same air as someone who is contageous, you have a 90% chance of contracting it if you're unvaccinated. A kiss on the cheek won't change that.

My 2.5 year old nephew was covered in princess kisses after meals at Cinderellla's Table and Akershus and after meets with Jasmine, Aurora, Mulan, Belle and Snow White on various days of our October trip. Despite an initial fear of characters, he definitely warmed up and tried to keep his mom from washing off "my princess my kisses".
