to or from any of the resort hotels? How long a walk?

It's a long story, but thanks for the information if you have it.

you used to be able to walk to RC from FW(correct me if I'm wrong)...but RC is now closed...

BB is "in" walking distance from the All stars and Coronado Springs...but I don't believe Disney likes guest walking the main road...and therefore prefer the guest to use there transportation...even if you attempted the walk...I would say it would be a good 30-45 mins....maybe even a good hour....

TL is only located near the Carribean Beach resort, Old Key West and DTD....the walk from CBR would be well over an hour...and the walk form OKW 30-45 mins

I say stick to transportation....

Well, that shoots that idea down the drain!

Are there busses direct from the hotels to the water parks or do you have to transfer somewhere?

Do they run frequently during the middle of the day or more at the beginning and ends of the day?

Thanks.

The walk from All Star's/Coronado to Blizzard Beach is most definetly NOT 30-45 minutes! We did the walk and if you go at a decent pace, we made it from BB to All-Star Sports in about 10-15 minutes.

Walking to Typhoon Lagoon though doesn't seem to be allowed. When getting off the main road and past the entrance of TL, it is a winding road through the woods. I don't think there is a spot for people to walk, I may be wrong though.

I stand corrected...
we attempted the walk...from the All Star Movies...from there to the front entrance of the AS's was a good 10-15...and then another 15 to the main gate of BB....
although I guess it does matter on the pace...

Buses run constantly!Usually the TL bus will tale a route like this...
resort...
TL...
DTD...
resort...
and the bus stop at the resort will say, TL / DTD
for BB the buses can be direct or have a stop at AK...usually they combine them during the midday... ( I think )
but mainly the BB has its own bus....

I don't think you will ever have a problem with the bus service to the water parks...the only downside will be if your in the MK resort area...as the bus rides will be longer due to the distance factor...
outside of that, you shouldn't have a problem...

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like BB is the better park to be if you have to beat it back to a hotel and get picked up by Mears. Thanks.

Don't try to walk to a water park from your resort, ESPECIALLY if you have kids with you. We always use our car or Disney transportation (which got us to TL quickly from the All Stars) so I never gave it much thought until our last trip. I was waiting to talk to a CM at the resort to get some info and overheard the gentleman in front of me talking to the CM about walking distances. The CM says Disney highly discourages walking. Traffic is heavy, there are some sidewalks in some places but not all and in many cases you must cross a road. There are a LOT of people driving rental cars who are not familiar with the area and are paying attention to directions and not expecting pedestrians. There have been accidents he said, but they don't publicize that a lot. They REALLY discourage it. After hearing the conversation I paid notice to the traffic and he was right. LOTS of traffic and people not sure of where they're going.
