Are DVC reservations linked to regular WDW resorts now?

I haven't done this in a few years, but will probably stay at a value the night before our DVC stay next year (which is a split stay between 2 resorts). With Magical Express, the dining plan etc. it is getting a tiny bit complicated. Are there any "links" between the 2 systems now? I most likely will be using ME. Do I need to make 2 seperate reservations? That is my first issue. I'm sure more will follow :lmao:

Disney Vacation Club does not handle cash reservations for non-DVC resorts. So yes, it's two separate reservations and probably always will be.

Dining Plan credits are tied to each separate reservation. Same is true even if you had two (or more) cash reservations back-to-back.

Unless you meet the requirements for purchasing the dining plan with a non-DVC stay, you can't get the dining plan. You'll need to purchase at least a one day ticket for each member of your party. You don't need to do that with your DVC stay.

Make the "getting to WDW" ME reservation with the value reservation. Make the "getting to the airport" ME reservation via Member Services in whatever way they tell you to do it.

Dining plans aren't connected with different reservations of any kind; you always have to start over when you move anyway (though credits don't expire until midnight of checkout day if you have any left); no difference with the stay you are planning.

Thank you. I know I can not get the DDP for our first night. I was just thinking about ME, but it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.
