Are connecting rooms gauranteed if booked through Loews or Universal?

We are currently booked through Cheaptickets for 2 rooms at PBH. I did call the hotel and requested adjoining rooms. I had read through one of the threads (I forget which one I've read so many!), that if booked through Loews or Universal they can guarantee the rooms will be adjoining-does anyone have experience with this?

Yes, only booked directly thru universal or loews can guarantee connecting rooms. Other travel site on have a list of rooms to book and that's it. That gets handed over to the hotels as it gets closer then unsold rooms get released back to the hotels.

You can call the hotel directly and explain your situation to see what they can do. I never book anywhere besides directly with loews due to the you first program.

Thanks! It's been quite awhile since we've stayed at Universal for 8 nights-last year we just did 3 at HRH. I'm use to renting points at DVC, that when you book that's it-I'm getting myself a little obsessed checking prices every day, looking at APH discounts etc.! I would love to see a AP discount come out for the Portofino suite, then I don't have to be concerned about the connecting rooms-right now it's running about $400 a night for the end of Aug. when we go-thanks again!

I'm pretty sure the $400 a night is the discounted rate. We booked connecting Garden view rooms in 2013 because it was cheaper than the portofino suite and gave us 4 beds. Booking over the phone they did guarantee connecting rooms for me

That is exactly our plan as well ! We would really rather be in a Portifino Suite with a King and 2 queen bdrms , but until an APH rate comes out for August (which it may not !) , we have 2 connecting rooms booked at RPR (booked with Universal, so they will be connecting) .
Still hoping for some AP rates for the summer to pop up !

Thats what I was told by a Universal / Loews reservations rep. and a few others have confirmed it .
When I reserved our 2 rooms, I jokingly asked the rep if the connecting rooms are "not guaranteed" , like most other requests, and she stated that if the connecting rooms are available in her system it is guaranteed. I said ......... really ? She said it was definite , since it was on her screen as available. She also said only the Universal or Loews reservation systems can see this information , as its real time, and not a "block" of rooms like Orbitz or CheapTickets. She had the real time availability and was able to guarantee connecting rooms . The Rep was very insistent that it was guaranteed connecting since she saw it on her end ! My confirmation e-mail (on both rooms) also does say connecting , so we will see !

if you talked to the reps at loews for the guaranteed connecting rooms, i'm sure it will be honored.
