Are children's liquid prescription meds allowed on flight?

We don't fly for another 6 weeks, so maybe things will be different at that point, but will we be able to bring DD's liquid allergy/asthma medications onto the plane. She takes a prescription allergy med and has nebulizer capsules with liquid in them. I also carry benadryl in case she has an allergic reaction which is non-prescription, but could probably get a dr.'s note indicating that we needed it. What about Epi-pens and inhalers?

Maybe it's too early to know whether these are allowed or not, but I thought that I would see if anyone might know.

The prescription should be OK. I would buy her some of the kids fast-melt benadryl just in case the liquid is banned. Epi-pens and inhalers are also prescription items.

Thank you so much for the fast melt benadryl suggestion. I didn't even know that they made something like that! It's very unlikely that we would need it, but I think that it is important for us to have it on hand in the event that we would need it.

I heard if it has the person flying name on it, it will be OK.

I know you are being funny but terrorists come in all shapes and sizes. These horrible people aren't above sacrificing children to further their cause.

i posted this question on another thread but will post it here too. i get my prescription meds free from my doctor's sample closet so they do not have my name on them. i can live with putting my allergy nose spray (liquid) in my suitcase but what about heart meds? what if my checked lugguage gets lost?

NO! WE MUST TREAT CHILDREN JUST LIKE TERRORISTS !!! Surrender the medication!!! :)

Sorry but I am not finding this funny today.

The reports are that the terrorists were going to conceal one of the liquid explosives as baby formula since it is a milky looking substance. So yes the TSA is going to have to question even the most innocent seeming stuff. Moms are going to have to "sample" formula before allowing it on the aircraft. How funny is that?

Unfortunately if it is a liquid prescripton you are going to need a prescription with your name on it. Maybe you can get a script for the duration of your vaction?

That was DH's experience at security today. If the medication had the original prescription label on it, you were OK. Unfortunately, DH's didn't so he got his prescription cream confiscated.

IMHO - they are going to be keeping close eyes on luggage for awhile. I wouldn't worry about it getting lost. But if it does, you call your doctor and have him call in a prescription for you at an Orlando pharmacy and go pick it up.

I'm in the same shoes, I have a 4 yr old DD who has asthma and a fatal peanut allergy. Sept. 18th 2004 3hrs after we landed in Orlando she was in an Amublance to Celebration Hospital because she didn't have all of her meds. So we'll have to get a detailed plan from her Doctor. She is on liquid Zyrtec in the morning before we fly out at 7am, then she is give a dose of over the counter benadryl liquid 15 min. before take off, then for her asthma she is on liquid Orapred and also liquid Pulmicort capsulets for her neburlizer. That is a lot of meds, so the Dr. is going to have to give me a detailed report and I guess no samples like she normally does. This will make it more difficult, but still worth it to get her to Disney.
