when you depart your cruise, are mickey and the gang around to say goodbye?
for the embarassing reason why a 26 yr old guy w/ no kids is worried about this, highlight the white text below:
We're coming back from our 3 day wonder trip on the eleventh of September (i can't type it the month/day way anymore), and although we're celebrating our WDW Wedding, I lost a few friends, and my dad who's a fireman in NY lost a heck of a lot of budies (like 40-60) so I get really bummed that day.
I know it sounds really dumb, but a hug from mickey can go a long way on a day like that. we're headed to POR after the cruise, so I really don't want to be in a cruddy mood for the ride back to Orlando & at check-in
like i said, its a stupid selfish reason. but the little things can go a long way

Thanks!

Got my magic marker ready to read your invisible text. I hope you get your answer soon.

I do not remember seeing any characters out on debaekment day.

On the west coast cruises they were NOT out. In fact we joked about it...no one wants to take your picture when you're leaving, no characters, kinda like, it's over...now go. Oh well! Maybe the special memories of your trip will keep you from getting bummed!

No, there are no characters out the last morning. I do not think that your reasons are in any way selfish. Maybe you should book a character meal for that morning/afternoon to help you get thru that day. :grouphug:

Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of the Characters need to rest on Debarkation mornings because they have such a FULL schedule starting about noon when the new guests arrive in the terminal and then the sail away party and then the welcome aboard show in the theater. Even Magical and Wonderful characters need to rest "some" of the time.

See below for my "hidden" suggestion.
How about thinking of some contribution that each person make to your life and celebrate the good things they did. The really sad thing would be if they were gone AND FORGOTTEN. Also plan to do something kind for someone else in their honor that day.

Even though the characters will not be there, look for some of the ship's officers and maybe even the captain. Even though it's not quite the same as a goodbye from Mickey, a wave and a word from the crew is still nice.

If you book a late character breakfast at WDW, you can continue the magic a little longer. Cape May, Ohana and Chef Mickey all have hotel (no admission) character meals.

::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo On the Western Caribbean cruise in May,all the characters & princesses were in the atrium on Friday night to say "farewell". I believe it was at 10 P.M. It was a "Sweet Goodnight" on the last night. It ended with silver mickey confetti failing from the ceiling.

They're probably busy cleaning cabins for the next group of passnegers :sunny:

thanks for the news fols. its only fair that mickey gets to relax in the spa before the new folks board.
CM Mom ~ we already make contributions twice a year, but its a great idea nonetheless.

The third and forth decks are packed with characters at the end of Friday night. The lines move quick because there are so many people. We got three characters in 15 minutes but we did not try to get Mickey. Then they pose on the staircase and you won't see them after that.
