are characters meals included?

Most character meals are buffets, and most cost one TS credit on DDP. Exceptions are Cinderella's Royal Table and mickey's Backyard BBQ.

If you are paying out of pocket, character buffets are more expensive than non-character.

1TS lunches and dinners are a great use of DDP credits. Breakfasts not so much.

Depends on the breakfast you chose. We're on the DDP and doing Akershus breakfast. Based on the math it's one of higher prices meals we chose, so we're using dining credits for it even though it's breakfast.

All character meals are included (with the exception of character meals at Garden Grove, Swan Resort), and all are one credit except for Cinderella's Royal Table. (Mickey's Backyard Barbecue, while it features Disney characters, isn't categorized as a character meal; the characters don't visit individual tables and kids have to get up to interact with them. It's characterized as a dinner show, and dinner shows cost 2 credits).

The main reason that people say that TS breakfasts are poor choices on the dining plan is not only because they are generally lower cost (Akershus, Chef Mickey, etc are exceptions, but even so, the breakfasts at those places pale in price to lunch/dinner prices), but also because you miss out on the dessert option which you'd normally get with a lunch or dinner TS credit.

TS breakfasts are different from TS breakfast buffets.

Although breakfast buffets usually cost less than lunch or dinner buffets, it's better to use your credit for a breakfast buffet or AYCE than it is to use it for an a la carte breakfast. At an a la carte breakfast you simply lose the dessert allocation. So if you are going for a breakfast, make it a buffet or AYCE.

Character buffet breakfasts are, with a few exceptions, around $30 per adult and $20 per child. This is an OK value on the DxDDP where the credits are valued a bit less, more like $33-40 but on the regular DDP they are valued at closer to $38-40. If you have half kids/half adults the value of the kids meals makes up for the deficit of the adults - the credits cost around $8 a piece on DxDDP and the breakfasts cost $20 so you still end up ahead. On regular DDP the TS credits for kids are probably valued around $10 or so, so you are probably just about breaking even with regular DDP and a 1:1 ratio of kids to adults. If I were going to have to work hard to break even I'd go OOP. I'm saving about $200 on 4 nights of DxDDP because of all of the character meals and mostly savings on the kiddo.

Is the Fantasmic Minnie Holiday Dine 1 credit? I saw something about it being deluxe but I have the 1 TS 1 CS 1 snack plan
