Are Capri Pants still 'in'?

I need to go buy some pants that aren't khakis and aren't jeans for when we go on vacation in a couple of weeks. However, I'm afraid that madras shorts will be too short and I'll have constant 'crotch crawl'.
I'm afraid that Bermuda shorts will look absolutely ridiculous on me because I am shortish and somewhat roundish (think oversized hobbit). So I'm leaning towards capri pants, which I've had in the past and really liked. However, I'm not sure if I'll be able to FIND capris because I don't know if they are still 'in'.

Anybody go shopping in the last week or so and find capris? Where did you find them?

Thanks.

I still wear them and enjoy them. I still see them a bit in Florida. :)

I bought 2 pairs of Capris in May at JC Penney's (in Tampa).

Yes they are still in. Pretty much every clothing store has them.
Do not discount shorts until you actually try them on. Too many people dismiss clothing items by saying "they won't be comfy or they won't look good" and wind up being pleasantly surprised when they try the item on. That would be rule #1 from TLC's What Not to Wear.

I am in trouble if they aren't! Since they are about half of my summer clothes!

Sure they are...at least in ktpool land! Capri's are always in style :-))

I still see them a lot in the stores here. Of course I still see mom jeans! :rotfl2:

BTW, I do wear capris! But don't let that (me being a middle aged woman with knobby knees) stop you... :lmao:

they better be ~ I own about 10 pairs of them! I don't really care if they are in or not because these buns are not going into shorts this summer! :rotfl:

Teresa :goodvibes

It's about the only thing they sell over here!

Skorts can also help if you want to wear something shorter!

I mostly only wear capris and most of the store sell them ... I would get if its not in fashion coz I feel comfy wearing them. You will look great!

Crankyshank--It's hard for me to find shorts I like because it seems like what I find in stores tend to be too short for my own personal comfort. And if they are long enough for me, they tend to do major crotch crawl because my rather plump thigh region. Capri pants don't do that to me.

Does anyone know if they carry capris at Target that are non-teenagery? I have a very limited budget (38 bucks) and I know Target is probably my best bet. The only problem I have with clothing there is that all their 'womens' clothing seems geared to 'women' far younger than me. Except in the maternity dept which makes me go  :confused3

And just because I'm curious..what defines the 'mom jean'?

I didn't discount your problem wearing shorts - I just said try them on and you might be surprised.
I have a big problem finding pants/shorts/skorts/capris that fit me correctly and if I based all my purchase decisions on past problems with a particular style or store I'd be wearing skirts every day.

I hope so too! I don't wear shorts because my legs are too white and I don't tan. I also hate wearing shorts because I have chubby legs and I get the "crawl" too...

I think capris are the best invention ever!! Love, love, love them!! :cool1:

Oh, sorry, NY & Co. has lots of capris and I think they are having a sale. They have up to at least size 16. I saw a couple cute things in Lany Bryant yesterday, I just wasn't in the mood for shopping (too hot to try on clothes). I think with $38 you will have no problem finding anything. Don't worry :)

Capri's are very popular where I work. We can't wear shorts but capri's are just fine, so just about everyone wears a pair at least once a week.

I found mine at JC Penney's. They almost always have a sale going on, I can't remember ever paying more than $20 on a single piece of clothing there, ever (except formal dresses..).

Do a search on mom jeans or non mom jeans

I'm guessing that mom jeans are defined by jeans that actually meet the waistline, yes?
Because if that's the defining factor, then all my jeans are mom jeans because I wear MENS jeans.

For the same price of two or three pairs of mens' jeans, I could only buy ONE pair of womens' jeans and they are usually so low cut I feel overly exposed.

whats the difference on capris, and gachos?? i think its the capri is closefitting to the leg and gachos are loose, almost skirt like..my dd's say they are the same thing..

There's more to mom jeans than just the waistline, even though that is part of it.

I have capris on now, so I hope they are still "in". :teeth: I bought some inexpensive, age-appropriate (I'm in my 30's) capris at Walmart recently.

I alternate between carpis and skirts to work each day. I have so many pairs.

I buy most of mine at kohl's they are cheap and fit great!
