I lost my sweet Mommy a week and a half ago. I am still having trouble believing it. I just can't believe she's gone. I don't want to believe it.
I am actually handling it okay 98% of the time-but a few times I cry and cry to my husband and I find myself just begging him to bring her back to me. Like that's possible. ::sigh::
..but that's the only thing that runs through my head-Come back, Mom, come back, please..
I am more heartbroken that my kids won't know her than anything else. She adored them and they her..and my MIL died a week before my daughter was born, so they have no grandma at all and I just find that to be incredibly incredibly sad.

Im lucky enough to have both my parents alive...and living around the corner from me.
DH lost his father 2 years ago and his mothe a few weeks ago.

Dad passed away in 2000 at age 77 and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him. He was a real people person and enjoyed going places and doing things. We are so grateful that he took us to WDW many years ago. Going back this year for the first time without him brought back so many wonderful memories. He was so happy he could share it with his grandchildren. The videos we have from those trips are so precious now.

Mom now lives with me, but never shared Dad's "zest for life".

Trust me, somehow as time goes on, you'll learn to adjust and there will come a time when you'll look back and fondly remember her, and you'll be so thankful for all the memories you have. That feeling of shock and disbelief isn't going to go away overnight unfortunately, but it will get a little easier in time. I'm so sorry!

My dad died on June 30, 1991...two more days and it's 13 years. :(

Mom died in 1994. :(

Thank you! {{{}}}
My Mom was the best.. though I never said she was my best friend, because she was more than that, she was MOM, you know?
We had a ton of fun together. She was very energetic, very friendly, always in a good mood, just so alive all the time, I think that's why it was so shocking. That and my Gram(her Mom) lived to be 98, so I always thought my Mom would live into her 90s.
I am so happy that I convinced her to go away with me to WDW in Dec 2002. Her first time there and she loved it!
Just she and I-I took her for her 61st birthday, stayed at the BCV and had a blast. She had never even flown before, but she was great.
As time passes I know it will ease the pain. I see how my husband has made it through and it helps immensely.

Lost my dad in 1990 at age 69...he went into the hospital for "simple" surgery and never came home! I miss him terrible, I was "Daddy's Little Girl"! My mom is still alive and will turn 79 this August!

I lost my daddy a few months ago on the day before his 61st birthday...It still doesn't seem real to me...It happened so fast...
6 weeks from diagnosis (cancer) until he passed...

 So sorry Liz! Sounds familiar. My Dad died 5 days before his 61st birthday. At his 60th birthday party, he said he wouldn't be here for the next one. He was right. He dealt with lung cancer a year and a half.

Both my parents are gone. My dad died when I was young and my mom died when I was 34 (she was only 53).

I haev both, but I almost feel nervous typing this as my dad developed a very serious blood infection in his leg this weekend...he is in surgery right now. :( :( :(

I understand, sadly.
My Mom was diagnosed with cancer April 12, died June 16th.
Th doctor was actually very hopeful, he told her he "believed she had turned the corner"..and then she died. Heart attack or blood clot, according to the dr.

I am blessed that both of my wonderful parnets are still with us and mostly healthy

DH lost his Dad last Nov and it shook the family hard he was 53 and died of his 8th heart attack Dh still has his mom

My mom died back in 1987 at the age of 41 of a brain aneurysm.

My Dad is still alive, Thank God.

Both still living. DH's are both living as well.

My dad died of a heart attack in his sleep in 1969 1 week b/4 Christmas. He was 49 and I was 8. My mom died in 2001 at the age of 79. I still feel the pain of losing them. My dh lost his mother in 1970. She was only 44 and he was 7. His step mother passed away 11 years ago and we are now facing a terminal illness with his dad. We don't expect him to live more than 6 mos.
