Are Boma breakfast PDRs necessary?

DH and I will be in WDW Oct 13-24, staying at CSR. After reading the rave reviews about breakfast at Boma's, we would like to try it one morning, but don't want to be locked into a specific day if we don't have to. What are chances of getting seated right away as a walk-in?

Slim to none. Without an ADR, you will wait. JMHO. YMMV. If you don't want to commit now, try calling the day before you want to go - often that will work out.

We've eaten breakfast there twice. We didn't have a PS either time and we didn't have to wait at all. I guess it depends on when you go

Yeah, depending on the time you'd like to go, there's no problem walking up and it's even dead sometimes. If you're looking at eating at 9:30 (which seems to be the busiest usually), you may have a small wait, but at 8, it's nice and quiet. I like eating earlier at Boma because you have easier access to the food - when it's busy, you can have a long wait at the buffet.

Ate there a Sat. am in August, didn't have ps and only waited around 7 minutes, food is excellent - one of the best buffets we've tried for both breakfast and dinner.

My dad is coming to visit me the weekend of Oct 21-23 and i was planning on going there for breakfast on 10/23. I have been trying to decide if I should make a reservation or not.

If you are planning to have breakfast at Boma on a weekend, I would definitely make an ADR. People living in the area of WDW eat at Boma on the weekends, especially on Sundays.

It also depends on the size of your party, I went on whim, during the week at 10:00 and I got seated right away, and the place was not crowded at all.
By the way the breakfast is great! I loved the press pot coffee, I drank the whole pot (I was by myself).
I made reservations for myself and my husband for our December trip, Friday will be our last day in WDW. A nice relaxing breakfast will be a great way to start our last day.
