Are AP's refundable?

I'm the one who used "gift certificate" and I stand by my post - it does not say you can "use it on what ever you want".

This is exactly what I posted:

I don't think this is right. IIRC, GoldenOldie has posted that the vouchers are like gift certificates - you can use them to buy any type of tickets (even more than one from the same voucher), including MYW. You can't get a cash refund if you don't use up the entire value of the voucher, though.

AFAIK (and most who post here will undoubtedly agree), GoldenOldie is our resident expert on WDW tickets.

Best wishes-
ok.. I am not in this for an argument, they way I read your post was...

"are like gift certificates" - meaning..like a GC not a AP voucher in exchange for an AP admission ticket.
"you can use them to buy any type of tickets "- meaning use them to buy any type of ticket you want (not other merchandise). If that isn't what you meant, what did you mean? I didn't write anything that you didn't say....

Actually Snacky, you said you weren't sure. I was simply stating that I was able to exchange my vouchers for MYW tickets.
that is what I have said to. You really didn't "downgrade" but exchanged your voucher for a lower priced item (with no cash refund). :sunny:

Can I exchange a voucher toward myw tickets(I will be getting 5- 10 day hoppers) when I am purchasing a package with dining through AAA. I bought an ap thinking I would use it for the room discount and dde card then decided we would rather do the package with dining through AAA. If I can, how do I do it? If I can't I will just keep it for a future trip.

Enough of trying to defend what I have said.. I will go back to my original resposne to the OP... you are much better off keeping a voucher since there is no experation date. They will only go up in price... you can always use it later. ;)

We bought an AP voucher in 1999, then had to cancel due to a death in the family. Although I understand that other vouchers may be used to reserve the BRP at WDW hotels, mine cannot. It does not have enough info on it to allow you to log on. So I have an AP voucher that I appear to need to activate before I can reserve under the BRP.

When we cancelled our trip in 1999, it never occurred to me that while we would be able to use the voucher for admission in the future, it wouldn't allow us to book AP hotel rates. As with many things at WDW, anything can change at any time!

Thanks for all the info. My fiance and I are going regardless of whether they can come down or not. We already have out vouchers in hand. Now I am stuck trying to wait out what the new promo is before I book the BRP for my parents and get thier AP's. We are staying an extended period of time so it still may be cheaper to get them AP's unless the new promo is a great one..

What you are saying is true about not knowing that it wouldn't allow you to book thru the BRP site. When you bought them in '99, there was no BRP so it wouldn't have ever occurred to you that they couldn't be used. Are they really from '99  ???? I could never have held on to them that long, 6 years! :wizard: Maybe you can call Disney & ask them if there is a code for you to use to get onto the web site. Honestly, that really isn't a big downfall. Look at what you paid for them then & what they are now? I am sure there is a big difference. Dinsey may allow you to exchange those vouchers for an updated ones (without the updated price), so you can log onto the BRP site.... it is worth a try.

No you can't, sorry. Tickets purchased as part of a package cannot have anything credited against them when purchasing. They must be paid for in full prior to your arrival.
