Are AP Discounts good on Concierge Level rooms?

DH and I are thinking of doing BC CL for F&W this year. We are new AP holders and were wondering if AP Discounts work for Concierge level rooms or just regular room categories.

TIA for your help!

There's no automatic AP discount. Special offers may be available to AP holders for certain dates and subject to certain conditions. The number of rooms available at any given resort under the offer may be limited. I'm not aware that CL rooms are excluded from AP offers, but you may find that there are no CL rooms available at AP rates just like you may find that there are no standard view rooms available.

We did get an AP rate on our CL room at BC over this past Spring Break, so they are available.

They do work on club level rooms. But like all Disney offers there are only a limited number of rooms available in each category. So... you've got to have the offer given and the rooms available. But it's a great deal if it all works out! We stayed at the BWI garden suites on 40% off last summer... it was AMAZING!

I'm planning to book CL, and then try to apply the AP discount later. Hypothetically, would something like that work, or would our already booked room possibly not be eligible?

We have booked CL and then applied the AP discount when discounts finally applied to those dates.

There are some issues, we could not get an AP discount during our Nov 2010 trip and had to change to a woods view (at WL) to get any discount. On our Jan 2011 trip, Dreams Unlimited was able to make the change as soon as the rates came out since there were AP rooms available. It really is hit or miss, January was a down time.

You can book the room, try to make the change on the day the AP rates come out (I would have a travel agent do all this for you). Either be willing to change CL hotels or if you really want your hotel, maybe downgrade to a regular room.

AP discounts are good, but it seems like the general public discounts are coming out earlier than AP and filling some of the rooms.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for this information.

Why would you recommend using a TA for this? I've worked with TAs twice on WDW trips and done it myself once and found it far easier to do everything myself. I didn't feel I got better service with either TA than I was able to arrange myself. Are discounts easier for TAs to apply than the general public?

As long as you check online for when an AP discount comes out I think it is easier to do yourself. There are a designated number of rooms at each resort for the AP discounts. The earlier you book after the AP discount comes out the greater your chance of getting what you want. Also, I have found CL rooms are easier to get at some of the Deluxe Resorts than others. Wilderness Lodge goes really quickly, but the Grand Floridian CL AP rooms are generally available a bit longer.

I book our vacations with the best discount available and as soon as the AP rates come out I try to change the reservation, or cancel one reservation and rebook. The AP rates are usually the last discounts to come out, but they are also usually the best rates! I don't know when you are hoping to go, but the AP rates are only out through June 2nd right now. Hopefully Summer rates should be out soon.

We're planning for a F&W fest/MNSSHP stay so I'm thinking those rates won't release until August. I'm thinking BC/YC right now. Any idea how they land in the list for CL rates between WL and GF?

As a general rule, the less expensive the rooms are the quicker they go. I think the BC/YC are in the middle, also due in part to the fact they are EPCOT resorts, not Magic Kingdom Resorts. Animal Kingdom and Wilderness Lodge go very fast. Also, there are usually a couple Deluxe Resorts with a smaller discount (35% vs. 42%), like the Polynesian which for the current promotion is at 35% won't go as quickly as it might at 42%.

Hope this helps. Good luck and just keep you eye on Disboards, as soon at the AP rates come out they will let you know!

Club level rooms were available for all the resorts I checked out this May. It was more difficult to find a gardenview or standard view room. It seems the cheaper rooms sell faster. If you buy your ap in advance you can register it and look at prices and availabilityyourself.
