We are staying at the GF in the RPC concierge and my daughter is hoping for a view of the castle. I spoke with the concierge staff about it and they said they would try, but I was wondering how many rooms in the main bldg. have a MK view. Does anyone know what the chances are of getting this? Also has anyone ever been upgraded to a deluxe concierge room or other? Also its my husbands b-day and I was wondering if there was anything special I could do?

There are MK views from a few of the concierge rooms in RPC, I had one. There are only 7 or 8 per floor, and I don't think there are any on the 5th floor, only suites or honeymoon rooms up there. So, that would mean there are only 14 - 16 rooms with a MK view, and there are more than double that amount of regular concierge rooms. The deluxe concierge rooms don't have views of the MK, I think, and if there are some, there are only a couple of them. There are MUCH more regular concierge rooms than deluxe rooms, so your chances of getting upgraded are very slim to none. The rooms in the RPC that have the MK views are the ones that end in 01 - 08.

We had a room in the RPC that had a MK view. The room number was 4404

We had the same room on our last trip. Even though there were a few added steps to get to the lounge, I loved being down that quiet hallway. Seemed as though there was very little foot traffic and in that area of the hotel, there are no rooms above you. The view of the castle was incredible. I didn't find that we even heard any noise from Gasparilla's which was under us.

If you are not familiar with the layout of RPC, the concierge staff is on the 3rd floor and the lounge is located on the 4th floor. There is a staircase right next to the lounge which connects the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors, plus an elevator. Only the 3rd and 4th floors have a castle view, so that's about 16 rooms I believe. I have not heard of anyone being upgraded to a deluxe room, there just aren't very many of them. We were 5 (2 adults-3 children) and we were very comfortable in a standard room. As for doing something special for your husbands b-day, you could order something from concierge, like the tuxedo strawberries, or set up ps's for Narcoosees and watch the fireworks while having dinner there. The health club/spa is also very nice and perhaps he'd enjoy a sports massage or something like that.

Have a wonderful trip. DH and I are taking a parent's only trip to the RPC in January.

Thanks everyone for the advice-only a day and a half and counting.
