Are any of the Timeshare "free Disney tickets" legit?

My sister & her husband did it five years ago--no kids to drag there. They thought it was worth it for 2 hours and got free tickets but also very strange situation--almost cult-like!

We did the offer at the Sheraton Vistana a few years back. We were offered 3 nights at the Vistana for $199. When you went to the presentation, they gave back $100. The Vistana is an older property so we were given the choice to either drive ourselves or they would take us to the newer property for the sales talk. We drove ourselves so we wouldn't be held hostage. We just held our ground and kept saying no and we got out of there in just over 2 hours. It was well worth it to us to have 3 nights in a 1 bedroom apt very close to WDW for just $100. And, we were able to buy Disney tickets from them for a substantial discount. I don't remember what we paid, but we got 10 day tickets that did not expire and that came with the water parks and it was quite a bit less expensive than getting them at the gate.

The secret is not to be nice. Let them know ASAP that you are not interested and they won't waste much time on you.

we did this one time and yes we got tickets but we had to deal with FOUR people trying to sell us!I started the clock and at 90 minutes said ok thats it...they tried to say we HAD to stay and finish and we were like NO WAY we did our time we want our tickets...we got them and never went back to another one.It was a tour of bonnet creek right there on wdw property,it was pretty but the people were so rude and pushy we would NEVER buy!
If you go take kids and feed them lots of sugar lol

My parents took me to disney way back in 87. We stayed off site and were coming out of a breakfast place like IHOP or something when someone offered us tickets to sea world for all of us if we did this presentation of a timeshare thing. I don't rememer it being bad at all and we did get the free tickets. That was a LONG time ago but that time it was liget. I don't think I would bother if we had that offer now a days.

I did one and got free tix to USO, and it only took an hour. The guy was manipulating numbers to project the cost of 20 years of vacations. When I called him on it and did a real projection, they immediately gave us the tix and escorted us out.

That is freakin hilarious!!! I probably would've done the same thing!!!!

My wife did the same thing years ago during a Hawaiian timeshare presentation (our first.) After hearing the sales pitch and all the numbers, she calmly asked for a calculator. She looked like a cartoon character as her fingers punched in a bunch of numbers. She slid the calculator back to the sales rep and said, "Nope. Not even close." The guy's jaw dropped and the presentation came to a quick close.

We have friends who do this on every trip - they go every summer. They never pay for tickets. They go almost every morning - first thing - for a time share presentation. They time the presentations, say no, walk out with the tickets, then go to the destination for the day. She said they're usually done by 10 so they still get a fairly full day at the parks. They don't just go to WDW with the free tix they have also done Universal, Seaworld and the water parks. She told me some of the time share places make you sign papers saying that you will never visit again.

They have 5 kids between the two of them so this is the only way they can afford to go. To my mind I rather save up and only go once every 20 years rather than put up with the high pressure sales pitch but to each his own.
