Are all touring plans created equally?

I was considering buying the passporter (until dh banned me from the travel section of the bookstore!) but it looks like it'd be too long/big to carry around the parks. I have all my reservation numbers, etc. in a small notebook and I was thinking of writing down my own loose, general touring plan from the different books I've read. Is the passporter as big as it looks on the internet?

It's pretty bulky... I just went and measured it for you: 9"x6.5"x1" I haven't decided yet whether I'll take it with me or not, but I love the pages in the back that you can fill out, diary style, for each day. That would be easy enough to copy into your smaller notebook though. Those pages also have envelopes to store small keepsakes/receipts etc which seems like a good idea. Again those could just be added to a smaller notebook. All in all, I like Passporter, especially the maps, and it's given me a few good ideas even if I don't actually take it on holiday with me.

I can't wait to show dh everyone's posts about owning more than 1 guidebook! He's totally into the "let's just go and explore" mode but I know that would be the beginning of the end for me--- Can you even begin to imagine "exploring" wdw on your first trip...with 4 kids...in July?!?

I'm not planning on going all commando, but I definitely like to be prepared! (Can you say "type A" personality? )

OMG I am so glad that I am not alone! I have spent the last 4 months compiling my "notebook" breaking down each individual park by touring plans, rides, shows and places to eat. DH thinks I have LOST it! Now if he only knew how much time I spent at work looking at websites!

I can start calling to book the castle in 2 weeks and this signals the beginning of my official planning. WOO HOO! I do need therapy.

Oh- yes, I have read 3 books, am a member of at least 5 Disney websites and my notebook weighs at least 7 lbs. Ahhhh the insanity of Disney!

my hubby thought i was crazy also, but once we got there and he saw how the adr's and the fps and the times we ate/rode and saw things without any waits, he was thrilled.
