Are all Standard Views at Kidani parking views?

We just got a standard view ressie at AKV. The last time we were at Jambo and looked at the pool, but I think I saw somewhere on here that standard in Kidani looks at paved area. Is this correct? Anyone with any experience looking at one of these views?

I believe that the view could be of the parking lot, the pool or a garden view. I know that there is parking under the resort, so I don't know how close a visible lot is to any of the standard rooms.

I do know that the 2 sections closest to Jambo are narrower than the rest and have only savanna views. If they had standard views, they would definitely be of the parking lot.

I am sure someone who has stayed at Kidani already will chime in soon.

We were at Kidani last week in a 1-B/R standard view room. Ours overlooked the bus stop.

Keep in mind that for the most part all parking is underneath the building. There's really only about 1 row of parking that is outside and visible from the rooms, if you look mostly straight down.

Here's some photos of the view we had.

Looking through the sliding glass door, showing the outside railing and the bus loading area.

Looking a little bit higher, showing the tops of the bus area, and the areas further out.

Looking to the right a little. The two white vehicles are in the temporary parking spots for those checking into the resort. The building just beyone them is the fitness center. The pool area is beyond the fitness center and is not visible in this photo.

There is silver lake resort - I was trying to see if I could find the new super target but I couldn't. I'm pretty sure that you could see the blue roof from one of the 192 gift shops if you looked to the left.

Thanks for the photos Caskbill. It helps to have a reference point. :)

We had a 1BR Standard view at Kidani couple of weels ago. Our view was of the area between the main lobby entrance and the pool(we couldn't see the pool, just the changing rooms for the pool).
We were able to see the highway with the Target in the distance.

Are those shingles on the roof of Kidani? What happened to using thatch like at Jambo? I would hate to look out and see wood shingled roof, buses, and a SuperTarget! Too much of the "real" world for me!

We had a Standard View room at Kidani. Here are two photos of the view from our balcony. The first is the view to the left which is Kidani's Port Cochere. The second is the view to the right which is the fitness center and beyond that the pool area which we couldn't really see due to all the trees. The view straight out from the balcony was of the short-term check-in parking area and the circular landscaped area in front of the port cochere. It was a good room for people watching and it was pretty at night because of all the flickering lanterns on either side of the door into the Kidani lobby but there were a lot of roadways and parking areas and vehicles driving by as well.

In the second photo you can also see one of those narrow parking areas that Caskbill described in his post. They run along much of the south wing and a small part of the north wing. Fortunately they are narrow so if you are on a higher floor you would have to look straight down to see them. You would probably notice them more if you were on the second floor.

Most of the Standard View rooms overlook roadways, the bus stop, the check-in parking, those narrow ground-level parking lots, etc., plus some of the resort landscaping and that large open field in the distance. The exception might be the rooms directly across from the pool, scheduled to open as part of Phase 2 in September. There is a small parking lot between the building and the pool area but the rest of the view could be good, depending on how much of the pool you can see through the trees.

The Kidani standard views seem to be about the same as the standard views at the BWV.

They don't look too bad to me, especially for those times when a person would like to save a few points.

I assume that there are many public areas scattered throughout Kidani to view the animals.

Thanks for sharing your photos of the views from a standard room!

I notice that AKV also has value view rooms. Any idea what views we'd have from these value rooms?

The value rooms are in Jambo house, not Kidani. They are on the Ostrich and Giraffe trails at the front of the original lodge. They are smaller than the other rooms as they asre converted standard rooms. They are bout 3' shorter.

They have a view of either the parking lot, pool, or Sunset Savanna. The view is not guaranteed at time of booking. There are only a few DVC rooms that face the parking lot (20%) so odds are, you would get either a pool or savanna view.
