Are all 2 bedroom villas the same?

We are thinking of stay at AKV or BCV, but want to know if there is a difference in two bedroom villas! We are confused by AKV the most.

Can you always get 2 beds in the second bedroom?

No. With the exception of OKW, most of the 2 bedroom villas, are combining a one bedroom with a studio. So the 2nd bedroom would have a queen and a sofa bed. The ones that have 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom are called dedicated 2 bedrooms.

The dedicated 2 bedrooms will have a bathroom with 2 sinks in the second bedroom and a closet. A lock-off (combination of a studio and a one bedroom) will have a bathroom with one sink and a kitchenette where the closet is located in the dedicated. This consists of a sink, refrigerator, microwave, and some cups/plates. Not all dedicated 2 bedrooms have two queens. Some of them have a queen and a sofa bed like the studio.

The above description of a dedicated 2bedroom with a queen and sofa bed, is only available at BCV. When building BCV, there was an issue with the dedicated units, so they were only to put 2 queens in about half of the deciated units there. They are VERY popular with members, and are allowed to be reserved directly by the members. They are the only ones allowed to directly reserve them, as there are so few in inventory. They are usually reserved for DVC members use only.

AKV will have dedicated 2 BRs with two queens as well as lockoffs with a queen and a sleep sofa.

I don't know if both Jambo and Kidani have both configurations. There's a real expert on the DVC boards, Lisa, who will know. We've had a 2 BR lockoff in Jambo House.

One big difference in AKV is that a sleep chair has been added to all one and two bedrooms so the villas will sleep 5 and 9 respectively. Value villas are the exception to this.

The sleep chair in the AKV at Jambo House is in the living Room. My dd loved sleeping in it. She was 10 and fit perfectly. I think an adult my have issues trying to sleep on it. It was made just like the new and improved sleep sofas though. At the Jambo House 2 bdrm we stayed at in March was not a dedicated 2 bedroom.
