are 7 month reservations hard to get?

hello

if i buy a old key west timeshare but use it also for beach club
will it be hard to book the beach club?

i would be going during school break, feb 15 -22, april ,and thanksgiving

i plan on staying sunday through thursday night

booking a small studio

yes. and the more vcation rentals they sell, the harder it will be. Thants why there are not many re sales at Beach club

Those are peak times, and yes, you may have trouble getting the beach club at 7 months during peak times, but I wouldn't say impossible. Why not buy a small resale at OKW and then do a small add-on at BCV to get the 11 month advantage at both resorts?

If you do this, keep in mind that you cannot combine the OKW and BCV points at 11-months. At 11 months you can use only the OKW points to book at OKW, and only the BCV points to book at BCV. You would have to wait until the 7-month window if you wanted to combine the points to book a vacation.

If BCV is where you will want to stay the most, and you think you will travel during peak times a lot, then you should definitely just purchase there. While you could be fortunate enough to book BCV at the 7 month window, why put yourself through that anxiety year after year just to save a few dollars on maintenance fees?

IMHO, you need to be looking at BCV resales. Good luck!

There are BCV resales. Because the resort is small and popular, they're harder to find and tend to be a bit more expensive. But if you establish a relationship with a couple of timeshare resellers (such as the sponsors of this board) and wait a few months, you'll score.

By the way, although I own BCV and love it, you might consider one of the other resorts. For Epcot proximity BWV is almost as good, and it's better for MGM proximity. VWL is great for MK proximity. And if price is paramount, then go ahead and buy OKW which is a lovely resort that's close to DD. If you're "forced" to stay there you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Bottom line: don't buy OKW if you really want to stay at BCV and will be disappointed if you get "stuck" staying there; buy where you want to stay even if it costs more and you have to wait for the opportunity. On the other hand, don't automatically write off OKW; it's the original DVC property with the largest rooms of all, a reasonable price and a great deal of charm.
