Are 3- & 4-day cruises less formal?

The dress code post addressed the attire for 7-day cruises. I am assuming that 3- and 4-day cruises aren't as formal or don't have a black-tie night. Am I correct? We won't wear shorts or very casual stuff to dinner, but I was thinking of bringing only a dressy pants suit (no cocktail dress). DH is hoping not to bring a jacket or suit. Dress shirts and nice pants only. Would that be OK? We're doing a 4-day Wonder.
I've seen posts regarding this subject, but they seem to only address the 7-day cruises which I know have a formal night.

After thinking about this - DH & DSs will take khakis, shirts & ties to wear at Triton's & Palo's. DH & I have been on 2 other 3-day cruises, and we remember seeing sportcoats, suits & just the dress shirt & tie at both of the dressier restaurants. It's hard to justify an additional 3 sportcoats to our luggage for just 2 nights out of 8 that we'll be away (spending 5 nights in WDW before the cruise). I'm sure we won't be turned away at Palo's - as long as my guys all wear ties!

I just returned from a 4 day and have done two other 3 day cruises. I don't go to Palo's and a dress shirt and nice slacks were the norm in the other restaurants. Some did wear ties and some did wear coats. Either way you will not feel out of place.

The 3 and 4 day cruises are a lot less formal than the 7 day cruises. From what you said you were going to pack, you'll be fine!

I was a bit worried about this on the 3-day cruise, but had no problems at all. DH only brought polos and khakis and fit right in even at Triton's and Palo. There were very few men wearing jackets at Triton's and about half wearing them at Palo.
