Good morning all!

I am brand new to this addiction called scrapbooking. I have a ton of questions, but this is one I can't seem to find an answer to. Do I need to spray all my saved goodies(concert tickets, programs, menus, etc...) with the spray to keep them for many years to come in my scrapbooks? Also, what about items cut out of magazines?

I have only seen one such kind of this spray in the stores. Is there only one kind?

I just don't want to jepordize any of my treasures or all the time I will put in these books when I finally get the courage to start my first page. :teeth:

Thank you in advance for any help you wonderful people can give me.

wish I could help! I haven't tried teh spray I thought about buying it many times but didn't.
I have heard that it is good on Newspaper clippings.
One thing I do with all my paper memorbilia, I mat it on acid free card stock. I also never have it touching any of my pictures.
One good thing about scrapping everything will be better protected than if you left the stuff in a box.

I have used Archival Mist and I have sprayed the front and back of any memoribilia I put in my books. I used it for the first time last fall. It did not alter or affect the color of anything that I sprayed. The only problem I had was that after using it a little the sprayer stopped working. As it is expensive, I called the company and they sent me a new sprayer saying that has been happening a lot. Then again with the new sprayer, the same thing happened so I called them again and they said they no longer send a new sprayer, but I should soak it in vinegar and then rinse it out thoroughly and let it dry, this worked out fine.

The company that makes it, provides products for archives and libraries, here is its website if you want more information:

I did recently see another spray to make paper acid free, I don't remember where I saw it but I think the company was 3M. I plan to look into it.

I think its Krylon that makes the other acid free spray. I have seen it at ACMoore. It is much cheaper, but I have not tried it.

Archival mist is definitely worth it for Newspaper clippings as it keeps that cheap paper from yellowing.....

Some scrappers also feel comfortable putting non-acid free items in their scrapbooks as long as they do not touch photos. You could encase the memorabilia in one of the many cute envelopes or PVC-free plastic holders that are out there for scrapbooks.

Definitely wait for a coupon at Michaels or ACM for the Archival mist!

You are right Poohbear, it was Krylon, not 3M! And yes, wait for the coupon to get the Archival Mist, I used a 50% off one when I got mine.
