Aquatica or Wet & Wild

We're hitting both (hopefully repeatedly) later this month. My sense before having seen them is: Wet-n-wild has better/more thrilling slides, but Aquatica is a more lush environment. So, it depends a little bit on what you are looking for.

Aquatica=nicer, newer,Roas Rapids is the fast lazy river which is the best attraction in the park,2 kids areas one if which is fun for even adults,6 major slides 2 of which are multi person raft rides, the slides are pretty thrilling overall but nothing extreme.Best dining and shopping of any waterpark in Orlando, two good wave pools, overall a very clean and fun waterpark.

Wet n Wild=Older but still maintained very well for it's age.A good amount of multi person slides,so if you prefer multi person slides this may suit you.Has more slides that could be considered thrilling as well as unique with slides like the Brain Wash or the one that has disco music inside.Average wave pool and below average small regular lazy river.

Basically if you want the nicer waterpark with more open spaces to relax in sandy areas with just an overall nice atmosphere and good slides, lazy rivers, food and dining go with Aquatica. If you don't care about a lot of concrete, less space or sandy areas or average wave pools or lazy rivers but more unique and multi person slides go with Wet n Wild.Wet n Wild also has a lake that used to have free knee skiing back in the day but I believe they now charge,I did it when it used to be free don't think I would do it if I had to pay though.

DOOM101........do you find that the crowd levels differ much between the parks? (is one normally "busier" or more popular than the other?)

We have two days booked at Aquatica for August (with a cabana rental each day) and hope to squeeze in a visit to Wet & Wild as well (even if its just later in the day, taking advantage of their half-price deal for afternoon admission). Curious if one tends to draw a larger attendance than their competitor.

If you're going the first half of August, especially on the weekends you're going to have crowds at either park.Schools start opening by the end of the month so if you were going on a weekday the last week of August the crowds will start to diminish.

:thumbsup2 Thank you.

We will be there the last week of August (the 26th through to the 2nd of September) so hopefully it will be crowd (and hurricane :lmao:) free!

I've done both multiple times. Unless you are a group of "only teenagers" I would recommend Aquatica. Larger, more variety, a theme (Australia).

Just adults or do you have kids? Wet and Wild just opened a huge new kids area with lots of slides etc. and it looks awesome on paper. Haven't been there, yet. The slides at W&W are actually more fun than the ones at Aquatica according to my sons, but they like the faster river at Aquatica and the fact that they can go to SW the same day for Summer Nights.(annual passes)

Like everyone else has said, Aquatica is good if you have a large age range (young kids - adults), but if you have middle schoolers + then I'd recommend WNW. They have more of the "thrilling" water rides than Aquatica.

We've done Aquatica before and enjoyed it. We like the WDW Water Parks more, but Aquatica was a nice, less crowded option. Probably will try Wet N Wild this year, especially with the new expansion now completed. Anyone know of any discount codes out there?

Thanks for all the replies.

We have tix that are good for both places, so we might try both in that day. We are a group of 4, 3 Adults 1 mid teen. We are panning on Sea World one day and the water park the next, so we might spend half the day in the water park and the other half in Sea World, or start the morning in Sea World, cool off in the afternoon in the water park and then go back to Sea World. I don't know, but I like that I don't know.

What about as compared to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon? Girls 12, 10, 9, and 5.
